Ok heres my question which would i be better off with? Right now I am n/a w/ current mods in my sig plus a zex wet nitrous kit i orderd on thursday. Im going to go turbo hopefully end of summer begging of winter (winter project) Now i want all the umph i can get outa my car right now that i can. That being said should i get the interceptor ems and have my car dyno tuned for n/a and or w/ my nitrous or get the access port? with the access port can i still tune my car at a dyno or do i just get the maps from mazda maniac for n/a and nitrous setup. Im new w/ ems so be gentle w/ me. and yes ive read many threads on access port and interceptor but still little confused which would be better for me.
thanks for any help

i think AP will be better in the long haul especially if you are going to get a turbo. a lot cheaper than the int-X too

AccessPort. no more question.
If you have a local shop that supports Cobb and has the Protuner software and a dyno you can get it dynotuned. You can even get it tuned for various octanes if you ever want to run race gas.

AP for all the reasons mentioned above.
Int-X is no longer a viable option for the RX-8

Why is that. I see plenty of people having trouble with the Cobb who had success with the int-x. Personally I still like the x more.

if the int-x were $750, i'd still get it. scott isnt banned from the forums like MM.
however.. since its $1500 and the AP is $750, i dont think there is a question.

generally i would go with the AP for the price. some people however have had more success with the inter-x which is still a good product.

I have used the Accessport have great success with the RX8's here in Phoenix including my own vehicle. The device allows control over nearly every aspect of the vehicle beyond fuel mapping and timing advancement.
You can control fan temperatures, OMP amounts, and much more which will translate into a longer, better running motor.
As far as I know, much of the COBB software is still in BETA so there are still issues to be worked out. I'm not saying the interceptor is a bad product, just that currently the Accessport provides more necessary features.

The int-x is still the only system in town for turbo setups like the Esmeril (blow through) because of issues with the OEM maf. So I wouldn't discount it completely.
And as a side note, if you're interested in tuned maps from Jeff (MazdaManiac) or his turbo maps, you need to purchase your accessport from him directly. He doesn't provide support if you buy it elsewhere then later find out your accessport is useless since you only get a stage 1 map and nothing else with it.
