Does this box sit all way against the wall (the back seat). My playstation is sitting in the passthru so i have two inches beyond the back of the pass thru. Just wanted to know before i order the box for my d6's.
Thanks
snipaz2420 03-13-2008, 03:11 PM i've seen a few of them on here every once in while but can't remember the names of the members. try searching zenclosure
kimota 03-13-2008, 03:36 PM Hi Thack,
I'm using a Zenclosure box and normally it does sit against the wall of the back seat. You can have the depth changed when you order, I did as I have my amps mounted to the back of the box.
I've had the box for several months now and I'm really happy with it, even with the change in depth shipping was super fast.

matthew121 03-15-2008, 06:58 PM looks decent
llzjayarzll 03-15-2008, 08:17 PM i have em too and theyre super. my capacitor is mounted in the passthrough
Thack 03-18-2008, 12:37 PM what are the dimensions of your box?
laythor 03-18-2008, 12:39 PM I got slapped for asking a girl that once.
xl2oGel2x 04-01-2008, 04:37 PM How close does the box come to the roof of the trunk? I have some Polk audio 6x9 in the rears and the magnet does come down a bit.
From the pics its hard to tell how far the box comes out and how high it goes.
Was considering the 4080 box with the rotary grill...which looks awesome...but the price is killingme and I might go with this one.
kimota 04-01-2008, 05:05 PM There's is enough clearance at the top for 6x9's I replaced the stock ones with MB Quart and didn't have an issue.
Honestly I don't like tht 4080 box for me the trunk space on the sides is valuable I.E placing golf clubs, groceries, dead bodies :)
The space the Zenclosure box takes up is pretty much unused real estate. Not to mention the cost of 2X 4080 box

RICK ROLLED
jstkilntim 04-01-2008, 06:57 PM The box is pretty close. I could not put my 6 1/2" Eclipse in w/ adapter plates. I looked into 6X9" but was scared of any w/ big magnets.
firebirdude 04-01-2008, 07:57 PM I used this box for awhile. The box is damn close to the rear seats, unless your specify a shallower box at time of ordering. Very well built. A+ on quality and fitment. Price too.
nuke0907 04-03-2008, 12:59 AM there is still room in the pass through and on top as well. i took the pocket off the back of my pass through panel and mounted my cap there on the back of the box. it fits perfectly behind it. if your PS is inside the pocket it will fit fine.
xl2oGel2x 04-21-2008, 05:15 PM Dont know if anyone has asked this...
Will the box still fit if there is a strut bar...?
NgoRX8 04-21-2008, 05:18 PM looks like the sub box takes up the place where a rear strut bar would go...

Definitely not!!
markryan22 04-21-2008, 07:51 PM I just got mine today. Perfect fit. Had to wedge it in the truck lol. But I'm very happy with it. Mines 2-10" and have no clue on what would be the best system for it.

How much did that system cost?
any rattle? Do I have to put any material in the trunk to stop anything from bouncing lol
firebirdude 04-21-2008, 08:14 PM Amp goes for roughly $400-$420 shipped and the pair of subs go for $210-$230 shipped. Awesome amp, no doubts there. But if money is an issue, 1000WRMS can be had for much cheaper with other brands.
RWagz 04-21-2008, 08:18 PM Dampening the trunk lid and most of the trunk bottom is not a bad idea. Nothing
makes your car sound like a cheap piece of crap like bass rattle.
markryan22 04-21-2008, 08:19 PM money isn't that big of a issue for me know just got balance out which mods i'm getting. Just bought a KS Carbon Fiber hood, AEM Cold Air... I got some good dealers near me, so hopefully I can strike a deal with them.
Do you guys install your own or do you pay? I have friends that know how to do it, but i'm thinking I should pay to get it done right.

Yeah, one of my guys (in the army lol) told me something about dyno mat stuff that would make it sound a whole lot better.
WikkedOne 04-21-2008, 08:44 PM It's dinamat - not dyno mat ;)
but yeah it can't hurt to do your whole trunk - but it adds a LOT of weight - I didn't and i get a little bit of rattle, but you can barely hear it over the bass :)
firebirdude 04-21-2008, 08:45 PM http://www.secondskinaudio.com/store.php?category=119
Just as good, if not better. Surely cheaper.
StealthTL 04-21-2008, 08:53 PM Actually it's spelled "Dynamat®"
S
firebirdude 04-21-2008, 08:58 PM You have to pronounce the "®" when you say it too

Damn. Might havta go with that stuff. I rather get it sooner then later since I wouldnt wanna install all of it to find out i got a rattle

wicked1044 05-02-2008, 02:34 PM did you build a cover over the drop bown box in front of the box?
I just got mine today. Perfect fit. Had to wedge it in the truck lol. But I'm very happy with it. Mines 2-10" and have no clue on what would be the best system for it.

My as of trunk now
firebirdude 05-04-2008, 12:00 PM Markryan, looks like awesome choices. They will pound without a doubt.
Wicked1044, that cover comes stock. I've heard other members say they do not have this either, but that cover is a Mazda part. Came with mine. Perfectly cut with tabs that fit into the plastic tub.
LiL BenNy 05-04-2008, 01:00 PM anybody have a pic out of the trunk? just curious how you fit that through the trunk opening....... i have corner stealth boxes and they were a bitchhh to put in...

Mine didn't come with the cover either....:rant:
jstkilntim 05-04-2008, 03:55 PM That lid comes w/ the cargo tray. The box barely fits through the trunk opening. You angle 1 end down through the opening and slide it in.
markryan22 05-05-2008, 11:30 AM The box cover thing came with it, ordered it from the dealer. They might be able to just order the cover for you.
i had to sorta kick it in there lol... my Apline Subs come tomorrow. Now just gotta order the amp :)
firebirdude 05-05-2008, 12:57 PM I'll "third" the note of the box being extremely tight through the trunk opening. lol But it fits without removing the weatherstripping or anything.
kimota 05-05-2008, 04:37 PM damn. i was thinking only doing it to the trunk. wow thats more then i thought. great read, thanks :)
Don't forget to sound dampen your licence plate this is where most of the rattle will come from :)
P.S
I'm currently using the setup your planing the 2X R Types and the PDX 1.1000 amp and loving it.
nuke0907 05-06-2008, 05:31 PM i had to install my sub after i put the box in the trunk.

FoxRacer600RR 05-11-2008, 05:17 PM im looking to sell my box that i have it is the biggest you can get without passing the bottom hole edge in he bottom of the tunk i paid 350 to get it custom molded and installed it will be going for close to that price the reason i stress that it is big is that the other box( which i ad) is too small to get too much bass out of it , this box has 1.3 cu ft.

FoxRacer600RR 05-12-2008, 10:56 PM fox, thats clean set up.
thanks but im looking to bing the outsides out a lil more to get some more air space so i can port them to get a little louder sound its about 1.1 cu ft with the speakers in it so it doesn't reach the lows i want it to
slimjimrx8 05-14-2008, 07:46 PM soo if i was to throw my old subs,... 2 12inch subs
* 2x Subwoofer Size 12"
* Impedance 4 ohms
* Peak Power Handling 300 watts
* RMS Power Handling 150 watts
* Woofer Surround Ribbed Polyfoam
* Woofer Composition Polymineral
* Sealed Box Volume 1.25 - 3.5 cubic feet
* Ported Box Volume 1.75 - 2.25 cubic feet
* Sensitivity 89.1 dB
* Frequency Response 27 - 500 Hz
* Xmax (millimeters) 9.76 mm
* Top Mount Depth 5-3/4"
* Cutout Diameter 11-1/8"
what would be the best demension for the zenclosure box shuld i order? an do they port it?
firebirdude 05-14-2008, 07:56 PM They will not make a vent of any kind for you. I asked. I even asked if they would just cut me a 4 1/2" perfect circle on one side and I'd fit in some 4" PVC (I was only getting one 12"), they would not do it. So I cut the hole myself. lol Worked like a charm.
For two 12"s, there is no options. They don't make the entire box larger or smaller to my knowledge. And even if they did, larger is always better. The box would have to be 7-8+ cubes before you'd start seeing any adverse affects from it being too large.
FoxRacer600RR 05-15-2008, 08:29 AM i didnt order my box from ebay , it was custom made , notice i comes out a lil farther than the ebay box
jstkilntim 05-15-2008, 06:25 PM .75cf is not to small for subs that are made for it.
markryan22 05-18-2008, 08:52 PM Ah stoplosses got pushed back so I'm be out of the army soon... yes! Which means I have 2 weeks to find a installer to do the following:
1x Massive Audio CAP2 Car Audio 2 Farad Digital Amplifier Capacitor
2x 10" Alpine Type-R Subs
1x Apline 1.000PDX AMP
I'm thinking putting the CAP on the sub box inbetween the 2 subs, or on the back of the box so u can see it when open up the rear glove box like thing (would mean they'd have to cut out some of the glove box thing).
The amp will go into the left side of the cargo tray... eventually i'll add another to the right side and run 1 amp to 1 sub.
nuke0907 05-18-2008, 09:35 PM the back glove box thing can be taken apart instead of cutting it up. thats how i have my capacitor mounted.
FoxRacer600RR 05-29-2008, 08:42 PM gota new setup check it out http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g225/foxracer600rr/hkgj001.jpg definitely took 10 hours t redo it in crushed velvet lol
markryan22 06-01-2008, 09:19 AM damn... thats great man lol
Thack 06-02-2008, 09:33 AM is that box very front heavy to the point it pulls the box forward???

Thack 06-03-2008, 09:08 AM Props man.
iwannagofast 06-04-2008, 02:08 PM Does anyone have a setup that allows you to still use the through pass? I have fishing rods as long as my car and need that space. And I haven't heard the Alpine Rs in person but I have Infinity Perfects and I'll swear by them.
firebirdude 06-04-2008, 06:25 PM Does anyone have a setup that allows you to still use the through pass? The 4080 wheel-well boxes. Yes, pricey. But oh so worth it. Build quality and fit is honestly way above average.:icon_tup:
iwannagofast 06-04-2008, 07:10 PM I'll take a look, thanks a lot.
Thack 06-06-2008, 09:27 AM right about the pricey!! :SHOCKED:

sun16v 10-24-2008, 09:08 PM Hi, I dunno if this is in breach of their design but does anyone have the dimensions for the box? I really want this placement of subs in the boot, got 2 type r's similar to the guys above.
I'd buy the box from ebay but im from the UK and its no point buying it as postage is as much as the box. I've tried searching the site but nothing really what im after. I dont wanna build the box for it not to even get in thru the trunk. Any help would be great!

sun16v 10-25-2008, 07:35 PM Cheers nuke0907, Ive tried searching for it on ebay and its not coming up with any results now, odd. Anyone have a contact email or know the ebay username?
Thanks
firebirdude 10-25-2008, 11:36 PM Sounds like you need to take some eBay classes:
