I read the thread about disabling it and then going to the dealer and having them reinstall to get the new firmware. I called my dealer and they said that they dont have a disk that they are supposed to connect something to the drive on the internet and download it to the system or something? Does that seem right. I thought the firmware was on a disk. Is there an easier way to get the new frimware. I know you have to pay 200 for the maps disk, but I just want the firmware upgrade.

No problem, I actually just installed it last night. I tried it a while back with a CD-r and it didn't work, just last night I tried the DVD-r and it worked fine. Nice update, can't wait for the snow to go away so I can try it out:)

I tried it with a DVD-R and a CD-R and it keeps saying it cant read the disk. I downloaded the iso that is on that link in the sticky. Do I need to unpack it or just point to the image and do it? Is that what I am doing wrong?

You need to burn the contents of the ISO to a disk. So unpack it onto the blank dvd.

you need to burn it using a program like Nero that let's you burn disk images, which is what a .iso is. I burned mine on a mac using Disk Utility.

Well i used nero and burned the iso, I didnt know if it needs to be unzipped or unrar. It is an .rar file when I download it but it says .iso on the file extension. I just need to know if I need to unpack it or not. I used the burn image on nero.

Oh, weird... it's not a .rar when I download it on a mac. I didn't unpack it, I just burned the file straight from the download as an .iso image through a standard app on a mac called Disk Utility.... but Nero should work, I think the disk I used was a Sony brand DVD-r if that makes any difference. I use a pc at home, but I downloaded it at work so that's why I burned from a Mac. Try burning the file without unpacking it I guess. Also, make sure you find the part in Nero where you burn a disk image and not just a data dvd, that might help.
