The recall may embarass Nissan, but when it's done owners get a car that works as it should. That's really what I want -- and I'm talking about the never-acknowledged mileage shortfall as well as the power. Sure, Mazda's free service and $500 are nice, but fixing what's wrong would be better. I still dream that Mazda will do that, too, but I'm not counting on it.
