I have an '07 a/ 6sp Auto. Experiencing intermittent wide-open acceleration performance. It never had bad accel, but sometimes it will pull (like I assume it is supposed to do) all the way to 7,500 (Auto red-line) with "push back in-your-seat" performance. At other times, the engine seems to flatten out around 5,500 and struggles to accelerate, especially in the taller gears (3rd).
No detonation, no backfiring. 26,000 miles now. K&N Air Filter element. No MIL lamp. Strange thing is, during extreame cold (under 25 deg F), the engine performs the best (last night felt like I was steering a turbo'd engine).
I'm wondering if a Knock sensor issue. I use premium fuel and keep track of where & when. No correlation with this issue.
Any ideas?
Also, the extreme cold brings about a seperate issue - my steering wheel seems to be pulling left or right as I drive down a slightly bumpy road. Don't notice in the warmer weather.
Thanks! Bill
