Canadian PCM flash revisions
I posted this in the tech issues forum, but it seems as though the US cars have different flash revisions than the CAN cars, so I'll post it here for some clarity.
I went to the dealer to get a CEL cleared again, turns out it was random misfire P0300. Then the guy said there is a newer ECU flash for me. I asked him to print out the report and here is the relavant info:
PCM_FILENAME = SW-N3M5EK000
From what ZOOM44 has told me, the last letter before the 000 is the revision level. so this new one is the "K" revision.
But if I read around the forums, there's people talking about "N" revisions dated 2004/2005. Furthermore, there are later discussions about the "R" flash dated around 2006. But these discussions are all in US locations.
My car is 2007 and has a build date of December 2006.
Does anyone know the differences between the Canadian flash codes and the US flash codes? Zoom44 has a sticky posted talking about J,K, L, M flashes, but those appear to be for the US as it is dated 2004. The Canadian cars clearly have different revisions cause I couldn't possibly have been told I have "an update for the PCM" and then that update is just the "K" version.

Different years and Vin ranges ( and locations) have different series of flashes....if that is the latest for you car it is a different series than the 04/05's with the "R" flash
My dealer installed the "SW-N3Z2ET000" flash in my '04. That flash is for the "not enough oil injection" recall that happened in the summer of '06.
As far as I can tell it's the same file name that the US 2004's get.
The '06/'07s get different revisions then the '04/'05s.

I believe that the flashes are the same for the U.S. & Canada. Check this post for the current ones.
