I dunno about where he lives, but down here in SW Fla they'll make you bring the car to the courthouse and show them that it's changed.

Let us Chicago peeps know how it goes. I had absolutely no luck in fighting a tint ticket (and I don't even have tint!)

That's a big no-no. You usually need to bring your car in for inspection. They not only look at your plate but your VIN. If they find out that you switched cars you and your friend's car can and will get impounded. Best bet is to try to find an officer and see if they can write off your ticket. That's how is it in California, not sure about where you live.

Ok so I had a court 2day. The thing is that i didnt take my tint of my windows, I didn't take a pic of another car without tint windows and didn't bring my car for inspection. What happen case dismissed. How I dodn't know but it's true and this is what happen to me today. I went to a court I was late for 30 min when they called my name i went to the judge and sad that yes i fixed my windows but i don't have a car pic and they let me go with that. So in Illinois all u need for court is a pic of ur car without tint windows and pic off ur car with front license.

Sweet! You avoided the tint ticket by commiting perjury! :Eyecrazy:

Hopefully you don't get another tint ticket. If you do, I'd just pay the fine and skip going to court. You don't want a judge to see that you lied to him or another judge. :)

Dyakon, consider yourself extremely lucky!!! Your situation is one-in-a-million and does NOT happen every day around here. The reason I had to fight my tint ticket so long is based on the following:
A double tint ticket (receiving one after pleading guilty or being found guilty of tint once before) raises the "crime" to a Class C misdemeanor with a max fine of $500.
(j) A person found guilty of violating paragraphs (a), (b), or (i) of this Section shall be guilty of a petty offense and fined no less than $50 nor more than $500. A second or subsequent violation of paragraphs (a), (b), or (i) of this Section shall be treated as a Class C misdemeanor and the violator fined no less than $100 nor more than $500. Any person convicted under paragraphs (a), (b), or (i) of this Section shall be ordered to alter any nonconforming windows into compliance with this Section.
