If i were you I would start with the 3rd thread in this forum.. you know, the one that start with the exact words "speaker sizes"
but IMO those speakers are crap. especially for fronts.. spend some real money and get some nice Boston Acoustics or something.

don't bother changing the big door speaker in the bose. Just change the front tweeters (for lack of a better description) to something high quality.
I highly recommend the Infinity Kappa Series.

Or the Infiniti Reference series is sweet. Rockford Fosgate has some new speakers that sound pretty nice

I was thinking about this part of my stereo rebuild. Aren't the Bose tweeters 2" because they need to cover a greater portion of the midrange, since 9" woofers aren't going to be able to cover the upper range as well as a traditional speaker? If this is the case, do the infinity kappa's have enough frequency range to not leave a gap in response?

thanks wickkedone for you great comments. : ) I get them off accomdations for 75% off so that why i posted the question to get some opinions. (The purpose of this forum right???) And i saw the third thread but with all this custom work people do anything is possible.
Thanks all for your input will research the infinity series.
