I have an 07 with the Bose radio system. I am not looking to upgrade the entire thing, but I would like to add a little punch to the system. Does the radio have preouts to make it easy to add a sub?

If not, how hard would it be to add one? What would I need to do?

Thanks in advance.

i would probably recommend doing a search. there are lots of threads on this same subject here.

no, no preouts, but it is relatively easy to add a sub

this is a good place to start http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=74664

no preouts, but not difficult at all to do if you have ever done similar work before

If you are "looking to upgrade the whole thing", why are you concerned about what the factory stereo has?

when i added a sub, i learned from the threads here.....

its all there.

if you JUST wan to add a sub you need:
-sub
-amp
-box
-all appropriate wiring
highly suggested:
- quality line out converter(LOC)

i have:
zenclosures box($200 shipped to HI)
kappa perfect 12dVQ($200)
kicker 400.1zx($250)
David navone NE-7V LOC($20)
Audio Control overdrive($100)
all appropriate wiring($50-75)

and it sounds great for what i want(all prices are from my best memory) and i did it all myself, which was not challenging.. at all.

Does anyone know if there is a DIY for wiring an LOC?

I have an NE-774V that is going in tomorrow and I think I might make a DIY

The answer to your question is: Sort of, kind of, not really.
I remember seeing a picture of the wires and which one was what. I used it when I upgraded my system. To be honest, it was a pain in the ass to find and I wish I had bookmarked the thread

Just keep doing a bunch of searches for stereo wiring, LOC, etc. That's how I eventually found it

Pull them from the Bose amp.

Again, its all in the sticky.

Just to clear up, yeah most of it is in the sticky. Thats where I got the info from when I did it the first time. But since I am upgrading the cheap LOC I used before I figured I could take some good pics and make a thread on how to do it so we don't get as many questions about how to add amps.

And to the OP, sorry for jacking your thread.
