Well I did it. I don't know if I'm the first one, but I feel like the biggest idiot.:(

That's right, I just completed the MP3 install on my wife's 8 and sure enough, I left a CD in the stock CD player. The worst part about it is that I realized it just as I was buttoning up the install.

Does anyone know if there's a way to manually remove a CD that's stuck in the unit? If the answer is no, then I'll just replace the CD, or just burn an MP3 with the album.

BTW, thanks to everyone who posted about the MP3 Install, there is no way I would have completed it in one evening without everyone's insight.

The guy that posted the install instructions also happened to leave a cd in the old player. He had to power the old unit (re-install it) to remove the CD.

Don't feel too bad. VERY easy to do - you have to repeat to yourself over and over "take out the CD. Take out the CD..." on your way to the car. As for a manual eject - some players and CD-ROMs have a manual release consisting of a small hole you insert a straightened paperclip into and push to open the tray. Don't know about this Pioneer unit, though...

Luke, remove the CD Luke.

I only put copies it the car these days. In fact, CD's get downloaded, sometimes copied - then they live in drawers and continue to make the inside of the house smaller, just like DVD's also do...
