View Full Version : Just noticed something....
Hercules 11-10-2002, 11:29 PM Look at the first picture..
http://bilder.autobild.de/bilder/1/22634.jpg
Now look at the second one...

They are two different cars. Makes me wonder what else is different about them...
Anybody guess how you know they are completely different cars? No prize for this, just curious if anybody picked up on it.
tribal azn 11-10-2002, 11:40 PM its the same car
If it's the same car then the coolest feature is being able to pull the steering wheel off and velcro it on the side you want!
Top one is US spec - bottom is European (clear side indicators too).

Bingo :)
Being that they have two cars out there... I wonder what the other differences are :) We already know that the Europeans are getting 240 horses, the States are getting 250...
*wonders*

Maybe Mazda will use him for the RX-8 ad campaign :P
Anyway, sleepy time for me..
Donny Boy 11-11-2002, 02:51 AM Apart from the steering being on different sides, the side turn signals are different. One orange and one white. Also, each appears to be a different shade of red.

i dunno, i think it is, but im just being the skeptic here. im guessing tht bottom pic is just in bad lighting...
i mean really, would mazda have do versions of the same colour?
Aesculapius 11-11-2002, 07:46 AM Personally, I don't think that is Robert DeNiro's brother....
It's Jimmy Hoffa!
:D
IWANTanRX8 11-11-2002, 08:16 AM Anyone else thinks the first picture (the front end view) looks....well, fake, as in heavily Photoshoped?? Case in point: the side marker lights looked tacked on, and the whole front fasscia looks heally artificial. Just a thought......

I dont think so. They have no reason to.
Hercules 11-11-2002, 11:46 AM I don't think so either..
crewwolfy 11-11-2002, 12:39 PM Something does look odd about it. The top's left (car's aspect) front bumper is out of wack. Could be bad lighting or poor compression, I suppose. But the fact that the rest of the picture is fine confuses me. Ah well, probably just something I'm not thinking of.
Also, as for left/right steering wheel, you could flip that easily in any art program. And I don't know why they would have red sidemarkers on the front of a car. But I do believe they are in fact two different cars. Just trying to make things difficult.

jeez herc thats old news, discussed days ago. maybe you dozed off during that discussion or you were busy reolying to 3 0r 4 other posts and missed it :D
jimbotomy 11-11-2002, 07:31 PM Or maybe they just "flipped" the top photo to make it look like the steering wheel is on the left side. All you'd have to change is the RX-8 on the front, and that would be easy.
Or vice versa. But the guy on the bottom has his watch on his left wrist, which suggests to me it wasn't flipped.
zoom44 11-11-2002, 07:59 PM its not flipped they had two cars at the press showing, 1 left hand drive and 1 right hand drive as was discussed in the thread about the article. the pics of the engine bay are the right hand drive one as can be seen by the clear turn signal lense. the pics of the dash are of the left hand drive model as blueadept pointed out that you could see the a pillar on the left.
Takumi 11-11-2002, 11:16 PM the tires on the first picture looks smaller could be just the angle:confused:
ilovepotatos 11-12-2002, 12:08 AM Or we could not...talk about...2 car pictures...
...
...
I mean, come on.
Come on.
RX-3_13B_Tommo 12-14-2002, 03:37 AM Most of the magazine articles that I've read have referred to both LHD and RHD, In other words, the magazine got to drive 2 cars.
