View Full Version : 6 Hours of The Glen on Speed Channel Today
RPIRX-8 06-09-2007, 01:01 PM First segment just went off, will be back on @ 4pm I think. Right before the first segment went off the #70 suffered a hard wreck. Sylvain Trembley didn't sound so good over the mic, but they said it was a broken front suspension. I think they might be done for the day.
mac11 06-09-2007, 01:19 PM i wish i could see the speed channel. i am stuck in class. Booooo-urns
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 02:34 PM just got coverage back. The F1 canada qualifying was on Speed for me this morning.
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 02:43 PM 69 is still in the race. We still have some hope!
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 02:57 PM Grrrr. 69 just crashed out! Tried to cut down on a pontiac in a corner and got pushed around into the wall. They have him in the pits now trying to assess damage!
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 03:11 PM At least the Pontiac had to do a penalty drive through for the bump out of 69...fargin bastage
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 03:33 PM Gran Am must return the rules to the way they where before Laguna seca, they made the rx-8 a non competitive package
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 03:41 PM another thing , they are always making there pit stops before a yellow and loosing positions
Senna 06-09-2007, 03:43 PM ^^Hey RC... been a few weeks. I've been trying to see if they (Grandam) have dropped some of the reward weight off the # 70. They either need to drop the damn weight or let them run wider rubber.
They've completely compromised their chance at the championship. Speedsource now has to push the limit in order to be competitive which inevitably will lead to DNF's!!
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 03:48 PM on the contrary the car is running at 2365lbs from 2200lbs ( going on memory) since they added weight for the transaxel they use
they are a second slower than the pontiacs and porches
Senna 06-09-2007, 04:02 PM I don't know how reward weight grandam gave them but I thought it was 45 or 50 LBS. Seems to me that they should have taken the weight off after Laguna and Limerock where they didn't finish as well.
At least the 69 car is still running...
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 04:05 PM it was 55lbs for the c ar and 110 for the transaxel, they are slow, it will be a surprise if the #69 finish in the top 10
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 04:14 PM 69 is back out on the track! Too little too late thought...
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 04:21 PM They just showed the pit crew for the Playboy car. I'd like to race for that team.:naughty:
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 04:23 PM you have to love speedsource, before the pit stop 11th afther the pit stop 9th :)
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 04:59 PM Is there some website you can pick up the realtime details or are you just getting it from the ticker on the TV?
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 05:02 PM 69 is running about 1 sec behind the 8th place car.
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 05:04 PM http://www.grand-am.com/Home.asp
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 05:05 PM that snyder guy can drive, he just made the pas for 8th
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 05:07 PM sweet! Thanks for the link.
rotary crazy 06-09-2007, 05:18 PM we got 8th, that snyder guy can drive! they should make him a regular driver for the #69 he was a second faster than the other drivers
shaunv74 06-09-2007, 05:22 PM Race over. Just switched over to IFC. Sonny Chiba beats up a bear in "Karate Bear Fighter!" Classic..
RPIRX-8 06-09-2007, 07:36 PM Wow, Grand Am really needs to investigate taking the weight off the Speedsource cars. Weight hurts any car but hurts the RX-8 chassis way more porportionally. I will be interested to see what the cause of the broken front suspension is.
They did the same thing to the GTO-Rs. They were kicked everyones butt last year and now they aren't even competitive really.
rotary crazy 06-14-2007, 08:14 AM hope they can get the#70 togheter for the next race.....
Senna 06-15-2007, 12:46 AM Thanks for the pic. On a side note the SS cars run a fat Fram oil filter. I was a little surprised to see that at Laguna. I took a bunch of pics and uploaded to webshots.
