Will the authorise workshops a good job in repairing our precious ride? Will they take short-cuts? My insurance company is from AIG.

well if you dont go to their authorised workshops then they won't pay for your repairs? if its just bumper, i dont think its a problem but if more than that then perhaps need workshop who have some speciality in the 8. You can prob request from AIG which are the ones they have on their list.

Any workshop can do the job, cos it has nothing to do with the Engine or electronics.
So most Workshop can do the job.
All u need is to know the boss , and u know that he will do a good job.
The workshop in SinMin Road that I regularly visit has repaired quite a number of Rx8, mostly go into very serious accidents,
And quite a number of us do our repair jobs there too.
U can visit him if u want to, he will also do all the documentations for u.

Depends on your insurance policy, bro..
XMatrix 05-08-2007, 12:43 AM Bros / Sizs, just found out that the procedures are damn difficult if your ride is a parallel import! The authorised workshop didnt repair because they have no parts so have to really hunt one good workshop that do and do a third party claim. This may drag if the lorry is insured with NTUC as we all know they will discharge liabilities as the best they can!

Why stress yourself up. if the Workshop that takes your case should be able to do everything for u.
Anyway , theres a few company in Singapore that imports Mazda Parts, and all the workshop order the parts from them.
The only thing that u need to stress is u will be without your rx8 for maybe 1-2 mths if theres a need to order parts from Japan. but that can be shorten too, if your parts is airflow.
hellangel 05-08-2007, 02:14 AM bro, i was knocked in the back b4 too... onli rear bumper slight dent and number plate drop... the guy that knock me say he did not see me... so i also send my car to sim min... quite good job la.. and earn 2k+ after changing a new MM bumper..

Finding out that this workshop dont do RX-8, that workshop dont do RX-8 - that's the fustrating part.
Anyway, I send my ride to the workshop you mentioned. Pretty good service so far.

Either the workshop over claim by $2K or the Final cost of repair is $2K lesser than the quotation given.
XMatrix 05-21-2007, 10:15 PM Hey folks, I be getting my 8 back today after 17 days! Anyway, just wondering, I was told that the boot has to be replace with a new one and the patterns stickers that I pasted on the back cant be claimed under the third party claim and since they are pasted strongly on the metal, I cant really take them out to paste on the new boot.
The reason is that the stickers are not damaged just the boot. So they only replace the boot but cant claim the costs of replacing the stickers.

Insurance will only pay what u had originally when u buy the car.
If u had install something extra, u will have to declared it to the insurance company, and depends on the items u add, insurance company may or maynot insured it, if they insured it , they may or maynot ask u to add extra premiums.
eg. Bodykits , Carbon fibre Hood.
If u never declared they will not pay u when theres an accidents
