While searching for air filters and oil filters to get ready to do an oil change, I came across an intersting type of performance oil filter that is deemed "reuseable". If you do a google search for Royal Oil Filter it'll come up as the first couple links to the "autoanything.com" site which sells it. It's a bit pricey @ $99.00 but seems like it might be worth it in the long run? They claim to send you free "adapters" if you decide to put the filter into a different car.

I have also seen it branded as a "TOGA" racing oil filter.

What do you guys think about this thing as far as value/effectiveness goes vs. OEM or other aftermarket oil filter like Mobile or K&N?

Anyways, I'm willing to be a guinea pig so I ordered one already along with a Green Air Filter & Recharge Kit... and if anyone is interested I'll be glad to post my experience with both once I get them installed. Imagine never having to buy another air filter or oil filter ever again... Sounds good to me! Better for the environment too maybe? Less disposables?

i wouldn't do it. If you use pureOne oil filters at $6 each, that'll get you 50,000 miles for $100, when changing every 3k miles.

I'm pretty strict when it comes to oil and filters. I only use Wix filters and they only cost me about $5 a pop or so. I can go through 20 of those for the price of one of thsoe resuable filters. You have to take it off to clean it anyways and then resinstall it. May as well just reinstall a new one. It's the same process without the cleaning step to complicate matters.

I go with K&N, cuz its easy for me to get, 9 bucks each, its a bit pricey, but I think its worth it.


WiX is good, but its a pain in the ass for me to get it (most local shops dont carry them)

Thanks for the feedback guys. RotoryGod & others, what are the underlying benefits of a Wix filter? I've never used those before. Also what type of air filter do you use (assuming u don't have a ram intake)..?

I was going to take my car into the dealership to do the 45K maintenance, but it didn't seem like there was much on the checklist (according to the user manual)... oil change, filter change, brake disc check, and lube hinges. I figure i could do that myself and save some hard earned $$. I wonder what they use to lube hinges.... hmm.
