Confirmed location: Shawnee Mission Park - Shelter 12.
This will be a low-key, kid-friendly event that is open to all people/cars. We'll be grilling out, taking pictures, and getting to know each other.

Tirminyl 03-13-2007, 08:39 AM Im in. Will add details and suggestions later.
kcvandal 03-13-2007, 02:53 PM i'm in. will have to leave early. gotta work every other saturday for a while
rotaryfan04 03-13-2007, 05:14 PM If I get some sleep I might stop in.
rotaryfan04 03-13-2007, 05:15 PM Is this a all car event or just RX-8's
Tirminyl 03-14-2007, 10:47 AM Is this a all car event or just RX-8'sAll car.
I'm in. I would rather try to meet at a restraunt or something. Instead of having a barbecue somewhere. Just my 2 cents.
webgrl 03-14-2007, 11:22 PM The restaurant meet is on Tuesday, March 27th (the other thread). The park will be a better opportunity for pictures.
Smog2k 03-19-2007, 12:57 PM Will do my best to get the Mz3/Mz6 crowd to join! More people. More food. More beer.
Tirminyl 03-19-2007, 01:21 PM Erm, probably no beer. As for the meet, I am unable to gather anyone as I just found out there is a huge car gathering at SMP the end of this month and another huge car cruise the weekend of this meet. So far my tally = 0.
webgrl 03-28-2007, 04:36 PM What car cruise are you talking about?
Tirminyl 03-29-2007, 10:36 AM Its another local site. The cruise is actually on t he 15th so no worries. We need a list of who is going. I originally thought of grabbing some catering food from Oklahoma Joes or if someone is great at a grill then we can do that. So we need specifics as to what you all prefer. OR we could meet up for pics, hangout, etc., and cruise somewhere for food or something.
Lets get this going!
webgrl 03-29-2007, 10:42 AM Here's the new list as I know it:
1. webgrl - Jenny (plus Jon)
2. tirminyl - Mark
3. rotaryfan04 - Chris
4. sexyrotarygoddess - Jayna
5. kcmo - Ryan
6. kvandal - Matt
7. foolio_jones - J.D. (plus kiddos?)
8. smog2k - Aaron (plus mz3/mz6 folks?)
I have done the ol' assume on some of y'all. Let me know if you can't make it. If you're not on the list, repost the list and add your name.
My personal preference would be for someone to do the grilling and we could all sign up for foods to bring ... burgers, hot dogs, chips, potato salad, etc.
Smog2k 03-29-2007, 10:59 AM Man a lot of pressure on me. I just hope I'm not promising a big game and nothing happens getting the Mz3/Mz6 folks!
What time are you looking at gettng out there, several of the guys are already asking....
Tirminyl 03-29-2007, 11:08 AM If we reserve a shelter (I can't because I don't live in KS) the time slots are like 1 or 2-4 or something like that. I will have to call to double check.

No pressure, but it's definitely open invite. I think we're shooting for 12 or 1, but it depends on what time we can reserve the shelter, as Mark mentioned.
If we reserve a shelter (I can't because I don't live in KS) the time slots are like 1 or 2-4 or something like that. I will have to call to double check.
I don't live in KS either, so who does?
Smog2k 03-29-2007, 11:36 AM Posted a few other places and hopefully someone knows how the whole process works. I'm in KS, if someone lets me know what has to be done, I can make the call and get a shelter locked down.
Tirminyl 03-29-2007, 11:42 AM Is mazdas247 down?
Smog2k 03-29-2007, 12:12 PM Think so. I was having trouble with it. Might have something to do with the legal stuff that got approached with yesterday.
Found some info on renting a shelter. I can do it if you guy let me know what you want.
Shelter #s: http://www.jcprd.com/parks_facilities/shawnee_mission_shelters.cfm
Pricing: http://www.jcprd.com/parks_facilities/reservations_rentals.cfm
Tirminyl 03-29-2007, 12:51 PM Shelter 4 has the large area with lots of tables etc. Shelter 3 is a little shack big enough for 2 people, lol. http://www.jcprd.com/parks_facilities/map_shawnee_mission.cfm
Remember we don't have to reserve but its best so we don't get kicked out by someone who has.
webgrl 03-29-2007, 01:15 PM I don't know anything about the park, so I'll default to you guys to choose a shelter. Just from what I read online, we'd probably be good with a small shelter. Even shelter 3 says it has seating for up to 32 people and the lake view might make for a nice picture background. But again, I am just going on what the website says, so I'll take advice from those who've actually been there.
I think we should definitely reserve a shelter... it would only be a few dollars per person and it would be worth it to have a dedicated spot that we couldn't get kicked out of.
I don't understand this part of the website though... is there a special process since it's the last day of the "off season"?
OFF-SEASON SHELTER RESERVATIONS: The Park District issues permits for off-season shelter rentals from October 16th thru April 14th through the Parks & Golf Courses Division (913-894-3341). Patrons who choose to take a chance that a shelter will be available without a reservation run the risk of having to vacate the shelter immediately upon arrival of a group holding a reservation.
Smog2k 03-29-2007, 01:27 PM I'll cruise the park this weekend and get an idea of the good shelters with a nice parking lot. Then either decide to reserve or to not reserve once I figure out what the crap "Off Season" means.
foolio_jones 03-29-2007, 05:57 PM Here's the new list as I know it:
7. foolio_jones - J.D. (plus kiddos?)
I have done the ol' assume on some of y'all. Let me know if you can't make it. If you're not on the list, repost the list and add your name.
Unfortunately, I'm out. Just found out I will have some family in town. Couple that with a pair of soccer games and the warden has locked me down. My apologies to all!
J.D.
webgrl 03-29-2007, 10:57 PM Thanks, Aaron, that's great.
Boo, J.D.! Hehe, just kidding. We'll catch ya next time.
OlatheRX8 03-30-2007, 09:47 PM I'd like to show up as well. I can't say that I've ever been to SMP. Can someone give me a pair of cross roads I can look up on a map?
Do we need to bring anything other than the car? (But then I wasn't thinking of walking there.)
(OK, i've found a map, and looked it up. No problem getting there.)
1. webgrl - Jenny (plus Jon)
2. tirminyl - Mark
3. rotaryfan04 - Chris
4. sexyrotarygoddess - Jayna

Smog2k 04-01-2007, 10:22 PM Folks heres the deal. Pics below of our shelter options out at Shawnee Mission Park for the 14th. VOTE
Shelter 7: Small, only street parking.
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/shelter7copy.png
Shelter 6: Little bigger, about 20 off street parking spots
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/shelter6copy.png
Shelter 5: Larger yet, again about 20-25 off street parking
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/shelter5copy.png
Shelter 4: The biggest one w/ ginormous parking lot but not likely we'll have the whole thing to ourselves.
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/shelter4copy.png
Shelter 12: Larger than shelter 5 with 30+ parking off the main drag
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/shelter12copy.png
Let me know what you think, so we can get organized. I'll call Monday to see how necessary it is to rent, or if the shelter we want is reserved for that day or not.
Tirminyl 04-01-2007, 11:05 PM Smog, you're awesome! Thanks man!
Smog2k 04-02-2007, 04:02 PM !More info! April 14th is the last day for "Off Season" rental and rental prices are about 1/2 what they would normally be when its "On Season." So give or take $20 for a half day. I am assuming we would be getting the half day rental with our time options running from 8:00am-2:00pm and 3:00pm-10:00pm. So far she said shelter 2 was rented and it wasn't even one I looked at.
1. webgrl - Jenny (plus Jon)

9. OlatheRX8 - Mark
Let me know what you guys want!
Tirminyl 04-02-2007, 07:51 PM I kind of like shelter 4 but up for whatever. Smog, if you have paypal I could send it to you or whoever that will reserve for us. It's been so crazy and I haven't had time to look at this.
Thanks again!
webgrl 04-03-2007, 02:32 PM Let's take Shelter 7 out of the equation - we don't wanna park on the street. I'm game for any of the others, and I can paypal some money to you, Aaron, if you want to reserve the shelter.
Smog2k 04-03-2007, 04:43 PM Alright either shelter 4 or 12.
- 4 has a huge parking lot, and the shelter is quite large also.
- 12 is same size as 4 and set back further off the road with 20-30 care sized parking lot.
I'd like to book before the weekend. I don't expect the cost to rent be anymore than $25 so if everyone could just bring a few bucks cash, that would probably be easiest. I'm a little hesitant on the PayPal stuff, sorry.
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/smpshelter.png
Smog2k 04-04-2007, 10:54 AM ! Its Official ! Shelter 12 has been booked for April 14th from 3:00pm-10:00pm. The cost was $30 ($60! if we had waited another weekend) so depending on how many show, everyone just bring a few bucks to cover your half.
http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q246/Smog2k/mazdameet.png
Try and bring something food and beverage wise. Anyone have any spare charcoal laying around, otherwise I can go out and get some. The lady I talked to was very animate about "no alcoholic beverages" so if you so choose to have something, I recommend a QT cup to mask the evidence. *Don't forget your cameras.
Hope to see as many of you out there as possible and if you need any directions just shoot me a PM and I can help you out.
webgrl 04-04-2007, 11:14 AM Thanks, Aaron! Now, let's get the food thing worked out. Please indicate next to your name what you can bring (enough for everyone).
1. webgrl - Jenny - Chips n Dip

Tirminyl 04-04-2007, 02:39 PM Thanks, Aaron! Now, let's get the food thing worked out. Please indicate next to your name what you can bring (enough for everyone).

Also, if you are bringing friends or family, please indicate this so we all know how much food we need. Thanks!Oh, who is cooking? http://rx8club.com/images/smilies/suspect.gif My BBQ skills suck.
webgrl 04-04-2007, 02:49 PM Eh, cooking burgers and brats is no big deal. :)
So, since we're reserving the 3-10 pm timeframe, what time are we actually meeting there? We originally talked about noonish, but this doesn't fit with the reservation. Suggestions?
Smog2k 04-04-2007, 02:53 PM They had weird options on reserving. I could get from 8am - 1pm or 3pm - 10pm.
I plan on getting there about 2ish to start holding down the parking lot. I'd be up for being "grill master" if no one else has the urge.
webgrl 04-04-2007, 02:59 PM I really doubt there is going to be a party in there from 8 to 1, so I'm sure if we just make it a late lunch type thing and get there around 2 or so, we'll be fine.
Smog2k 04-04-2007, 03:18 PM Get excited, I've got some confirmations from the "other" Mazda folks

Tirminyl 04-04-2007, 04:41 PM Sweet. 2pm it is! Thanks again Smog.
I am trying to get people but am uncertain if anyone will attend or not, lol.
Smog2k 04-04-2007, 04:53 PM You as my pixelated witness Tirminyl, Freekwonder is one of those MazdaSpeed6's confirmed coming. !And! he promised a burnout.
He doesn't show, I'm busting his balls.
OlatheRX8 04-05-2007, 06:59 PM Even though it isn't reserved until 2pm, I have no problems showing early. It seems to me that we are right. It is very unlikely someone has it reserved from 8am to 1pm.
If we get there around noon-ish, and no one is there, using it, I see no reason why we shouldn't set up and use it.
1. webgrl - Jenny - Chips n Dip
2. sm4k- Jon - Brats/buns

webgrl 04-06-2007, 11:03 AM SO this meet definitely got me excited. I just put the clear corners on my car yesterday and the K&N Typhoon and side/rear aero flares are ordered! They probably won't get here before the meet, but at least it got me moving on some of the stuff I wanted to do to the car. :P
I have to thank Chris for letting me "borrow" his K&N intake... definitely sold me on the setup. :)
What about the rest of you? Anything new in the works?
Tirminyl 04-06-2007, 12:14 PM Considering im moving in two months, everything fun is on hold, lol. Maybe I can sneak some stealth bulbs in but no big purchases.
kcvandal 04-06-2007, 12:26 PM got my 8 back from paint with the body kit. might get pics today if i have time.
the only way i can go to the meet is if it is early. i have to be at work in excelsior springs at 330. can't pass up the O.T. if anyone is going to be there around noon, i will be down, but have to leave smp by 215. please promise that we will have another meet soon.

kcvandal 04-06-2007, 03:45 PM if a few are showing up early, i will definitely be there. anxious to see some other 8's.

webgrl 04-07-2007, 10:15 PM Aaron, do these other Mazda people have names? =P Actually I really want to know if you are listing one person per line... just trying to make sure we bring enough for all on our food commitments. Thanks.
Btw, saw a Ti Grey 8 yesterday in Overland Park and got the light flash... too bad we were at opposite sides of the intersection or I'd have invited him to the meet. I've got some mini-flyers to put on windshields this week, if I happen to catch any 8s parked anywhere.
PearlMS6 04-08-2007, 12:16 AM MazdaSpeed6 guy here - Jeremy
I'll bring some food and if needed some sort of heat- firepit or propane heater
weather permitting my wife and 2 yo son will be attending as well
Tirminyl 04-09-2007, 08:49 AM Grrr. I hope the weather can clear up this weekend. As of now from the 10-day forecast they are talking of rain/snow showers and a high temp of 48dg. Lets keep our fingers crossed!

And as for names Jenny, I'm in the dark on this one. Most of these guys I've never chatted with outside the forum except for one of the Speed6's, Dave, who I got my HID's from. They'll all be as new to me as they will be you.
Tirminyl 04-09-2007, 11:06 AM I know two of the MS6 owners. Freekwonder and the other is a friends dad. He will be bringing his and my buddy (his son) will be bringing his Civic Si.
OlatheRX8 04-09-2007, 11:34 AM If the forcast holds, it looks like it will be a cool and possibly rainy day saturday.

Keeps your business to yourself.http://rx8club.com/images/smilies/rollinglaugh.gif Yes, Alt + Print Screen only takes a screen shot of an active window, like your web browser, so it wont grab the entire desktop. Smog2k 04-09-2007, 01:23 PM AH HA! Got you beat, 1822! Not entirely something to be proud of though.
Tirminyl 04-09-2007, 02:57 PM Lol. No its not. If I could just get rid of it I would. I am too busy to read it. People mostly call or walk to my cube if they need something now.
webgrl 04-09-2007, 04:24 PM Maybe we will luck out with the weather like we did for our last meet.

webgrl 04-11-2007, 10:13 AM Did you just quote yourself? =P
Tirminyl 04-11-2007, 11:40 AM Did you just quote yourself? =PNo, I tried to quote you. Unfortunately, this board doesn't retain the previous quoted text of a users post. Therefore, I get pwned.
webgrl 04-11-2007, 11:50 AM Okay, okay, I'll let it slide. =P
As for the weather scenario - we have the space rented from 3 to 10. If it's still raining at noon or 1, we could meet up later. I know this won't work for everyone, but if it clears up at any part of the day and some of us could get together, it'd be better than nothing.
If anyone wants an update on Saturday morning, PM me your cell phone number and I'll keep you informed of the status of our meet.
kcvandal 04-12-2007, 02:14 PM any way we could reschedule for sunday? it is supposed to be 60!
maybe the park could move our reservation to the next day?
Smog2k 04-12-2007, 02:30 PM I would consider it but the majority of the Mz3 and Mz6 crowd are traveling 30+ minutes to the meet. If you guys want me to run it by them, let me know but I'd have to get the word out quick!
webgrl 04-12-2007, 02:32 PM I thought the same thing, but I am running a half marathon on Sunday and then meeting my little leukemia patient (I'm raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society), so I can't be there. Also, Saturday is the last day of the off-season for rentals - Sunday would double the cost.
Weather reports say rain is only expected Saturday morning and should clear up by mid-day. Will still be cold, but maybe not miserable.
In any case, I suppose it's up for a vote. I could come later in the afternoon (say 3 or 4 pm) on Sunday if we think it's worth it to switch.
kcvandal 04-12-2007, 04:33 PM ask the mz3 and mz6 clubs. see what they say
how much for the shelter?
Smog2k 04-12-2007, 04:49 PM It was $30 for the "Off Season" price which will be split up evenly by however many show. But after April 14th the price jumps to $60.
*UPDATE* Just got off the phone with JC Parks and Rec, there is a $10 transfer fee and I have to mail back in the shelter contract and request another. Not sure if we have time to cover all those bases before Saturday.
I put out an informational PSA to the other forums to see what the guys/gals think about a possible reschedule.
Smog2k 04-13-2007, 08:14 AM Well I've gotten several responses back and only about a 1/3 of the guys from the Mz3 and Mz6 crowd would be able to make a Sunday reschedule.
webgrl 04-13-2007, 09:53 AM I say we stick with our original plan. If we meet up at the park and the weather is crappy, we could always go to a nearby restaurant. If people want to meet up on Sunday as well for picture opportunities, we could try to arrange something last minute without canceling our Saturday meet.
We've had this in the works for well over a month now and I don't think it's fair to cancel it when some people may not get back online before tomorrow to check the forum.
Tirminyl 04-13-2007, 10:26 AM +1. But if its really crappy will we have snow burgers?
webgrl 04-13-2007, 10:31 AM +1. But if its really crappy will we have snow burgers?
If it's really crappy tomorrow, we'll hit up the local pub and make them cook for us. :p:
Tirminyl 04-13-2007, 10:44 AM Lol. I will just hold off grabbing the meat and will show up around noon-1. I will also find a grocery store within the area if turns out manageable weather. Don't want food to go to waste or anything.
webgrl 04-13-2007, 10:47 AM Lol. I will just hold off grabbing the meat
Oh my, there are so many awesome replies I could make to that statement. But I better keep them to myself. =P
But your plan sounds good. :)
Tirminyl 04-13-2007, 11:35 AM Well, I set myself up for it, lol.
Smog2k 04-13-2007, 12:47 PM That was a pretty brutal self setup there Mark!
Alright I'll let the other troops now that we're still on for tomorrow. All the weather BS is forecast to clear out by morning with an upgraded high of 52. We do have the shelter until 10:00pm, so if people decide to arrive a little later.
I've got several coolers (with ice) I can bring so we can store the food and stuff in until we cook it. Good idea?
Tirminyl 04-13-2007, 12:58 PM That was a pretty brutal self setup there Mark!Yeah, but it wasn't on purpose though. Good idea for the cooler.
vigozus 04-13-2007, 01:34 PM Cool I'm in, My name is Alex, T-gray 8 and I'll bring some dinks . The pics would look awesome with all our 8's in the parking lot at the lake.
webgrl 04-13-2007, 03:40 PM Hey Alex, welcome. I bet your ti-gray is a beaut.... not that I'm biased or anything. :P And I agree, I bet the pics will be great. I am bringing an SLR camera, so hopefully the weather cooperates.
Aaron, thanks for the update on the weather. Coolers would be great - I only have one small one.
I can't be at the park until 2 pm, but I know some people wanted to get there as early as noon. Please chime in with what time you think you'll be there so everyone can see if it's worth getting there early.

kcvandal 04-13-2007, 06:07 PM doubt i will be there. weather and roads will be too bad to get there early. have to be at work at 330 up north. maybe next time. post if anyone wants to do anything sunday.
OlatheRX8 04-13-2007, 08:54 PM If the weather actually has residual snow on the ground, I'm likely to be late, or perhaps not at all.
It is my hope that by noon-ish or shortly thereafter, the roads will be clear of snow. If that is the case, I'll be there.
I have OEM tires, and a steep driveway.
Smog2k 04-14-2007, 01:05 PM give me a +1 for good weather!!!!!!!
vigozus 04-14-2007, 09:03 PM Thanks guys, I got a great time at the lake. my email is vigozus@hotmail.com or http://www.myspace.com/vigozus, keep in touch... Alex
webgrl 04-14-2007, 11:37 PM Yeah it worked out in our favor again for sure. It was great to meet everyone. I'll get the pics uploaded tomorrow.
Tirminyl 04-15-2007, 01:05 AM Smog- You're the man.
Great to see everyone again!!
tdogg4ya 04-15-2007, 11:16 AM looks like I just missed you guys, maybe next meet.
Smog2k 04-15-2007, 07:32 PM It wasn't all me, you guys made it pretty easy since you'll all so damned agreeable! Really good to finally put some faces to names and see some good lookin' cars.
I think for the next meet we need to accommodate the folks that were driving 30 minutes to an hour to get to this one and organize something more out by them. Which could be fun for all of us in town to meet up and caravan out wherever (for some highway fun of course) :)
Again, great to meet all of you, lots of fun and too much food.
Oh Kyle (blue Mazda6) posted pics, you guys probably didn't get the link

rotaryfan04 04-15-2007, 11:29 PM tdogg4ya what color is your 8? just wondering if I have seen you around?
tdogg4ya 04-16-2007, 10:02 AM I have a 2006 Copper Red Shinka with temp tags still, you may see me around the Strangline area.
webgrl 04-16-2007, 10:08 AM I don't think I've ever seen a copper red... you got pics?
rotaryfan04 04-16-2007, 10:33 AM I'll keep a eye out for ya,
SHOWOFF 04-16-2007, 01:17 PM Wish I could have made it. Didn't know until I saw Tirminyl on my way home from work Sat. I haven't driven my 8 further than about 2 miles since January.
webgrl 04-16-2007, 01:32 PM Wow, you must really baby that car. Mine is my daily driver, but I was able to ride the bike into work today - woo hoo! Can't beat 60 mpg when your commute is 64 miles roundtrip. :P
Btw, guys, sorry for the delay in getting the pics online. I started to post them last night and Jon said I should blur out the plates... so I'll work on that tonight.
tdogg4ya 04-16-2007, 03:54 PM Here is a few pics, I need to clean her up and take alot more. I want to get some tint and maybe mazdaspeed body kit. You guys got any suggestions?
webgrl 04-16-2007, 03:57 PM So this is definitely different from Velocity Red, right? Hard to tell in the pictures, but it looks darker.
As for tint - I need some, too. I got my last car tinted at Midwest Tint and they did an excellent job. I may go back there again unless someone else knows of a great place to do it that might be cheaper.
Tirminyl 04-16-2007, 04:28 PM Jenny- the Copper is def darker and is sexier in person.
As for tint, I got mine done at PDI Auto and I thought they did a GREAT job. They would be my recommendation.
tdogg4ya 04-16-2007, 05:17 PM very different, you'll see next meet.
rotaryfan04 04-16-2007, 06:44 PM Got my tints done at Alta mere on Ridgeview and 135th it was like $120 for 20% all around defiantly recommend
webgrl 04-16-2007, 10:00 PM Is 20% the legal grade all the way around in Missouri?
Tirminyl 04-16-2007, 10:48 PM 30% for the Front and Any % for the rear in Missouri.
webgrl 04-17-2007, 01:21 AM Thanks, Mark.
Here are the pictures I took... hope this link works! :P

Smog2k 04-17-2007, 09:06 AM Did the photo link for anyone else?
Try photobucket.com (http://photobucket.com)
Tirminyl 04-17-2007, 09:16 AM Link works for me. I think a certain someone (me) needs to take care of those exhaust tips....or get some new ones http://rx8club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
Link worked for me, had to wait for it to full load, because at first it looked like it was a link to an empty album.
Nice meeting everyone, and seeing the people from the first meet again.
(I was Webgrl's armcandy)
webgrl 04-17-2007, 10:23 AM Yes, I'm sorry, Aaron, but I bring my own candy. lol

PATIENCE (sigh). And its only Tuesday.....
webgrl 04-17-2007, 10:32 AM Just givin you a hard time. I do it all my friends and I know they LOVE it. ha!
So when you were talking about accommodating the people from out of town or whatever, did you have something in mind as to our next meeting spot?
Tirminyl 04-17-2007, 10:37 AM Word is RX7 club is having a meet may 5th in lawrence. I can't make that though.
rotaryfan04 04-17-2007, 11:54 AM Thats sounds fun are 8's invited? I know some 7 owners dont like 8's much.
Tirminyl 04-17-2007, 12:18 PM Well, they only stated, Rotary Only, lol.
Smog2k 04-17-2007, 04:17 PM Just givin you a hard time. I do it all my friends and I know they LOVE it. ha!

Crap, I have no idea, it was a fleeting thought. For all those people that live further west of KC that maybe we could meet them halfway somewhere for the next go 'round. I think it could be fun for us to caravan out there.
Again, just a thought :)
OlatheRX8 04-17-2007, 09:29 PM Everyone,
I had a great time. I wish I could have stayed longer. But I had things to get done.
That silver 8 that arrived later, certainly looks a lot different. I wish I could have heard about all that customization.
The copper color 8 looks interesting too.
I'm looking forward to the next meet, and I hope that I can see the cars in person then.
As for the RX7 meet... Mark, I was thinking that we went to one of their meets two years ago. They didn't seem to mind the 8 then. I'm certain I got a warm welcome from them. They had an FD or two there as well. It was definitely a rotary thing. I was thinking that I mentioned something about that meeting to someone during our get together last weekend.
Again, I wish I could have stayed longer.
webgrl 04-17-2007, 11:11 PM If anyone else is interested in going and can find out if the 7 guys mind or not, let me know.
vigozus 04-18-2007, 01:14 AM IF YOU ARE GOING I'M ROLLING TOO!! HERE IS ONE OF THEIR POSTING:
"yea site is reserved and paid for.

we'll do food and drink again and everybody throws down $10 if thats cool."

webgrl 04-20-2007, 05:26 PM We have nothing to look forward to now. *cry*
Well, actually JD and I are running in the autocross at Arrowhead on Sunday. Anyone else gonna be there?
Tirminyl 04-20-2007, 05:30 PM I may stop by Sunday!
webgrl 04-20-2007, 05:31 PM Woo hoo! JD is running in heat 1 and I'm in heat 4. And, Jon is running his Celica in heat 1.
tdogg4ya 04-20-2007, 05:40 PM still here, getting my 8 tagged next week, sales tax sucks!
rotaryfan04 04-20-2007, 05:47 PM what time sunday? I might come out.
webgrl 04-20-2007, 05:48 PM pretty much all day... 1st heat will be in the morning, like 9:30 (I think) and the last heat (the one I'm in) will be late afternoon.
There were two other 8s at the last autocross, so they may be in other heats.
foolio_jones 04-20-2007, 09:45 PM Real men and women auto-x their 8.
webgrl 04-25-2007, 02:46 PM So I made it out to autocross on Sunday, and it turned out great! J.D. I saw you there, but I was busy when you were running and then I didn't see you again.
My best time was 69.916 and I didn't even hit any cones on any of my runs! I did DNF on my last run though... was trying a different tactic for taking the sharp turns (aka slowing down) and since I didn't slide out as much, I accidentally turned too soon and went on the inside of a marker.
All in all, it was a great day, and I'll definitely be back!

I had to sneak out like a ninja in order to get home in time for my son's b-day party. Generally I hang out there quite a bit more than I did this Sunday.
Good job on the times - it's good for your car, too!
