hmm

I have heard people on here say they were going to return their car just to get another one and people who have them ordered and get the deal.

I do not understand this other than to take advantage. Mazda is offering the buyback to those who are "locked in" per se and bought the car or are in possession of the car. I know that some who have them on order have been told that they too qualify but frankly, why? They can get their deposit back and move on if they choose.

In your situation you bought the car after the fact. The ordered car qualified but that is not the one you bought and you already knew the sitaution. I would say you do not qualify but I am not Mazda. Call them.
