sorry for the noob title. maybe i won't get flamed for my actual question.

i was thinking of running my amp power wire through the rubber grommet on the drivers side of the firewall and under the fusebox cover into the fusebox terminal. my question is whether the power wire going to the fusebox from the battery will handle the amp? i will be running 4GA from the Amp which is a Kicker KX600.1 with a 12" solobaric L7 and a 2F cap. BTW it has a 60A fuse on the amp and power wire. the reason i'm looking to go this way is for a more stealth look.

i'm looking to order the ebay box for this setup but i haven't heard of anyone else doing it. am i wrong? i'd like to ask about the fitment with the sub mounted and the actual hole to mount the sub into.

and lastly for the noob ? of the day. i have the non-bose system. i got a LOC to install. do i just tap right into the speakers in the rear deck (ie. is there an amp back there to worry about like the bose)?

I guess maybe I'm a little confused as to what you're looking to do. Are you trying to just run 4awg power wire from the fuse box to power your amp? If so, NO! :spank: You cannot do this. The power wire must be connected directly to the battery. Or maybe I'm confused and you ARE running from the batt? You want to connect 4awg to the battery. Run this 4awg to the grommet on the driver's side. Through the grommet and on into the rear of the car? Where does the fusebox come into play? :Eyecrazy:

there's a wire that connects the fusebox to the battery. since i have no idea what gauge that wire is, i need to know if it can handle hooking my amp up to there. i'm thinking of just trying to hook it up there and hope that the fuse blows before any wires start melting but IDK if i want to risk it.i had another car that had a 4-channel amp connected to the fusebox using 8GA wire and it worked just fine. the amp i'm trying to use now is way more powerful so i don't know if that wiring can handle the load. i liked it because you didn't see the wire running through the engine bay at all.

Why take a chance? I would highly recommend NOT doing this. Run it all the way to the battery & fuse it there.

There is no amp in the base system. You can tap at the speakers.

I am really not sure what you are asking about the box.

yeahh, what fuse box? definitely, definitely run a wire straight from your battery, through the grommet, and all the way back to your amp... the only fuses involved should be an IN-LINE fuse that YOU install on your power wire, less than 2 feet from the battery... and any potential fuses that your amp might have built into it (my amp comes with a 40-amp changeable fuse built in)

at no point do you tap into any fuse boxes that already exist
