Hey whats up guys just got my 04 Rx-8 with only 14k miles on it for about 17k. Yea im lovin it but i have a problem i have a 94 civic hatch back with b16 swap and some bolt-on's, and its faster then my 8 and im like man thats not right .
But then i ran another hatch with a gsr swap and i wiped his ass. Any way i just want to know what should be my first step in making my 8 faster . Im not relly new to the rotory motor, i had an 88 rx-7 with intake and exhaust befor. But anyway if any one has any input please fell free to comment.

The 8 has decent power, but it's not a drag racer. The only way to get meaningful power increase is to blow it.

Then there aon't much out there other than going to the track and learning hoe to drive.
When you do that you will be surprised how many you can pass and how many you can keep up with on the track.

there's a new rear gear thats available, 4.77 ratio. that plus maybe a 50shot of nitro is probably the max for a non turbo renesis engine. the intake and exhaust will hardly add a thing (maybe 5 hp combined). also there's a new CPU flash from racing beat, $300 and a good 10 hp increase (couple guys have the flash and say its great.)
also you could get a midpipe to replace the cat, that'll free up the most (around 5 to 8hp)

Swi Swi Switchinlanes. You forgot to order the 50mm rubberband option; it's like, worth 50 HP and 100 ft/lbs. of torque.

FI is your only way. This is a track car in most of our eyes.

Just take it to the Blue Ridge Parkway or into WV. You'll be too busy enjoying the chassis to miss the power. And when the road is curvy enough the RX-8 has all the power you'll need.

You might find you have more power if you don't try to floor it -get it up then let up a little and then kick it again. Use Chevron or Shell hi test gas. Make sure your oil is clean, make sure your wheels are lubed. Practice - the better you handle it the more go you will have and there will always be some awful thing with oversized fins that will drive you nuts even when you have turbo etc. and are running nitro there is always someone - just don't kill yourself like that little 18 year old who ran past a Honda in a porsche

VA has plenty of great roads to enjoy your new 8. The Blue Ridge Parkway is very nice, also check out Route 8 past Floyd near the Parkway-it is a 8 driver's dream-cambered curves for days
Where in VA are you?
