4206f flash

Got my '05 m/t back from the recall over the weekend and as I drive it this week I've been wondering about some things.
During start this flash is supposed to initially allow less fuel to prevent flooding. After start does it allow more fuel and less oil. I hear a more metallic click in the engine than before. I understand the oil was a cat issue.
The car also does not seem to accerelerate as quickly as before, and there seems to be a slight knock or more air in the mixture as I step on the gas. Anyone else had this experience?
Of course, I am still working on the dealers' free gas.....maybe it wasn't premium.
PCM flash was the only thing done during my recall. Any ideas?

regular gas not good, could take a couple of tanks to clear that.

If the tick noise is at idle its the air pump puting in air into the exhaust for emissions.

That's a normal noise.

4206f Recall

Thanks Razz.... Seems to be when I'm driving and accelerating between gears. But I still haven't run through this tank of gas yet. I noticed some similar comments on the main recall thread. Guess we'll see.

'05 MT with 12,500 miles. Ran perfect when it went in 2 weeks ago. When I picked it up it was making really freightening noises (I could almost hear the rotors spinning and a droning sound). As people have said, conditions quickly improved.

However, it still is making a horrible sputtering, choking kind of sound when cold and rev'd to about 2K or higher (never go over 3 when cold). Never heard/felt this before recall. Could this be normal / coincidental to the recall?

Also, although they checked all the fluids (about 300 miles ago) I'm also getting a coolant level warning when running (warm) at 5.5-6K or more for more than a few seconds. I added some coolant last night, will see if that resolves it. Seems strange though that I've noticed a number of coolant-related posts in the last few weeks. Anyone else getting coolant level warnings just after recall?

Yep, my light came on the day after I picked it up from the recall. It was on for maybe 10 seconds, then went off. I have only seen that light once before, and that was before I had my engine replaced due to a coolant leak from the rear rotor.

Have you considered going back to the dealer and complaining?

Just tell them the same stuff you've been saying here: that it ran fine before they worked on it, and doesn't now. Don't start off yelling - save that if you need to escalate. Coherently describe the symptoms.

Good luck.

I don't know why but alot of people's 8 is runing like **** after the recall. My car on the other hand is running like a champ after the recall. I did notice my car makes some excessive noise during start up but I feel more torque from 1-3k and my car pulls harder/smoother all the way to 9k. Onlything is I did feel I lost some torque between 3-4k. Lastly my exhaust seems to be louder for some reason, overall I'm really happy.

Check Engine light after recall

Had my "emissions recall" done about a month ago and have drive about 600 miles since then.

The Check Engine light came on this morning on startup and stayed on. First time ever. Anyone had it come on and stay on?

I didn't have oil on the air filter before but now, with about 600-700 miles on the reflash my filter is wet with oil and I have had a few ocassions of high-rpm misfiring followed by midrange sputtering that were recorded by the PCM. Back to the dealer on Tuesday to see what is going on.
