Since I was unable to find a thread that directly disccused this...
1. What will cause the engine to flood?
2. How can I avoid this?
3. Oh Noes! my engine is flooded, is there anything I can do to deflood it?
4. Are there any mods to help prevent this problem?

I was hoping to put all of the important things in one simple thread, not 93 pages... but thanks for the link

This is all you need to know.
Do not shut off a cold engine and let anyone that has access to the car know that also.
That has worked so far during my 78,000 flood free miles

My seller called me frantically a couple hours after I picked it up. He was like, "I would've been up all night worried if I hadn't called you!"
If you "DOH!" and flood it, push the gas pedal to the floor and try repeated cranks of the key lasting about 10-15 seconds for a couple minutes and see if it starts. If it does, thank your lucky stars and get it nice and hot before shutting it down again.

How would you know if you flooded it before you tried to start it up again??

If you just did a quick move/short drive/cold shut-off and thought, "doh, I shouldn't have done that!", or any time the car doesn't crank right up, odds are strong you flooded it. It's important that, if you think you may have, that you do NOT try to crank it normally, as more fuel will get injected with each crank. As soon as you suspect, floor the pedal and try to crank.
