CarAndDriver 10-06-2006, 12:33 PM I hear when it drops below 32F, the car refuses to start and you have to plug in the blow dryer from the bathroom, open the hood, and warm up the rotors with your hot air. dmc27 10-06-2006, 12:41 PM Hope you enjoy your 8, Prozaco! Mainly from the Detroit area. I grew up north of Grand Rapids. My mother and family still live in the state. I've had no problems here. Just change to winter tires and you should be fine. I use all-season for the winter. If you live in western Michigan or are a u'pper, get snow tires. Raptor75 10-07-2006, 08:12 AM There are some Michigan people on here. Mainly from the Detroit area. I've stated and ran my car at 10 degrees with out a problem. puch96 10-07-2006, 09:20 AM I just bought a 2005 rx-8 and live in michigan.... has anyone had problems with their car during the winter months? I had the car here in Michigan and had not problems... Although I'm not planning on driving the 8 during the winter months... New Yorker 10-07-2006, 09:59 AM I use all-season for the winter.Curious, but why all-seasons? I mean, since you have to switch tires anyway, wouldn't performance winter tires be better? The only advantage to all-seasons is that you can keep 'em on all year. If you have the summer tires, you're not doing that. Only way all-seasons make sense for an RX-8 is if you sell the summer tires, no? |
