I have a HFC in my Exoticspeed midpipe but I highly doubt it will pass CA smog.

When was the last time you smogged and passed with it?

The only way to find out is to try. It should pass though right? Does your cel light come on with the hi-flo cat? If so then I would say it wouldn't pass for sure. :P

Theres a post on some corvette forums saying they pass ca smog no problem with high flow cats, even the sniffer test. The only part you may fail is the visual and only if they actually get down and look. Just go to some cheap place at a gas station and I really doubt they would care as long as it passes.

the places ive been to dont even check visually. i have a HF and it does not throw a cel. im sure it would pass. usually if your car is low, they dont even bother checking as long as you pass the initial test.

No CEL's w/ Exoticspeed but the delicious aroma makes me question if it will pass the sniffer.

Exoticspeed must be worth something then. I've had it for almost a year no CEL's.

I agree with the OP, a HF cat will most likly not pass the tail pipe emissions test. A corvette is much cleaner then an RX8, so our cats have to work much harder.

The o2 sensor is only reading the Air Fuel ratio which is primarly the Carbon Monoxide and Hydro carbon readings of the test, however the emissions test also check for Nitros Oxide (NOx). Our motors produce a lot of heat and subsequently elevated NOx. Without a high quality 3-way cat (reduces all 3 emissions readings) the vehicle will fall NOx. In fact I dont think the aftermarket HF cats are 3-way. I believe they only reduce CM and NOx.
