In Vegas? Buy from Utah...

There isn't really competition to Courtesy Mazda here in town. But Stephen Wade Mazda/Honda in St George Utah is a good dealership.... Taxes may/should be cheaper by going up there buying the car (no Utah tax) then coming back to vegas and register it.

Their number is 435-628-6100, ask for Alfred.

Service down here could still be done by Courtesy... But they have Big problems in their service department .. FD's go in to get one $40 thing fixed, and come out with $5000 in repairs. I H-O-P-E they train their people better, and FAST

Therein Lies the Problem in Vegas

Currently, Vegas is a 1 dealer 2 lot market. Though I heard that a new Mazda dealer is opening in the fall up near Centenial Hills.

The problem remains that the Courtesy garage has a less than stellar reputation and they are the only dealer for a 120+mile radius.

No matter how great the car is, eventually it will need some maintenance, and in Vegas there is only one choice and it doesn't appear to be a real good one.

Hey, 3 ?'s:

Do you guys know trustworthy people to deal with at either courtesy service dept?

Also, how certain are you of the new dealer opening in the fall? I ask because timing would be perfect for me. I went down to Courtesy this week and have never dealt with shiftier salesmen.

Lastly, do you know any good shops in the area?

Thanks

I saw an animated ad on television where this family is talking about sevral car makes as being perfect choices for a new car. The ad then says for Mazda....(several other makes)... it will be worth the wait to see the new PEOPLES dealership comming soon in Centenial Hills.

I live in Henderson, so the Centenial Hills area is a haul. I don't know anything about the new dealership opening up, other than I saw the ad on television. My experience with Courtesy has been less than ideal as well.

As for service, I don't have any info on who to talk to at courtesy. I went there once after buying my Miata, and they were substantially less then helpful. I ended up doing some minor maintenance myself on a one year old car, but this was two years ago.

My only concern with a Centential Hills dealer is that if I need service it is still quite a ways. Still, it beats the alternative of no dealership.

Mazda has some great cars and I want to replace my MX-5 with an RX-8, but the current dealership sucks.
