Titanium pulled over 880 SB @ 92

I had seen maybe 3 8s in the Bay Area since they came out, and this was #4 - much sadder sight than the others. Saw it on Sunday at around 12:30 - man, I thought the greys were supposed to blend with the asphault.

What's wrong with the Highway Patrol - don't they know that these cars are meant to be driven? I mean really, what's the big deal? :D

man, do I hate 880!! I'm a 280 kinda guy, the highway patrol is probably just jealous of our beautiful cars, and had to pull one over to take a closer look. =P

P.S.
It wasnt me btw

Hey, the car gets attention, not all good. Two Saturdays ago I was pulled over twice! Once for speeding, and once for not signalling a lane change. That's a record! NO tickets, thats another record. The second pull over was totally bogus, the cop really just wanted to see my car. I was cruising along and saw him in the medium in the emergency vehicle turn around spot, and pulled out well in front of me (no radar on per my RD). I passed him about 6-8 miles later, he's in the RH lane and slowed for merging traffic, I was in the middle lane. A little while later I'm still in the middle lane watching my speed and thinking of passing a slow moving truck in the RH lane that kept swerving into the middle lane. As I get close (very close) I figure it's too unsafe to pass in the middle lane and move to the LH lane, pass, and move back to the center lane, and immediatly see him behind me with his lights on, so I pull over. He buys my (rightfully so) emergence manuveur explanation and lets me go. The first pull over was another story, I was getting on the highway and doing some spirited acceleration on the two lane on ramp and had to slow down to merge. Right away, I had a trooper behind me, he says do you know why I pulled you over, I say I don't know, he says you were still accelerating at 85, I said I don't know what I was doing, but I know you didn't pace me or get me on radar, he said nothing, than he comes back with a warning ticket. Bottom line, lucky me, but the 8 gets both positive and negative attention! So be careful.

I live in the East Bay, so I'm rarely on 280, but you're right. 280 has much better asphault, less traffic, more scenery and more fun turns.

Oh well, that's what I get for livin on this side of the Bay. On the plus side, I get the backroads of the East Bay Hills. I took an 8 on a testdrive up there once. I got back, and the salesguy observed ,"hmmm, these tires are pretty hot."

Can't wait till mine arrives and I can take it up there!

Did you happen to buy your car at Val Strough Mazda?

It's a long story, but the short answer is no - I started there, and was going to, but eventually the sales guy I was dealing with I guess decided it would be too much work on his part to make the sale - his loss. So I did my own research and went to Sunnyvale and then to Menlo, where I finally bought it.

What about you?

I got it from Val Strough from a guy named Simon. He gave me a pretty good deal off the back, but he's a slow worker. I waited 2 hours just for my car to get washed and fill up. Spent a total of 5 hours there. SO did your car come in yet?

Nope - my car has a Jan. 18 build date, or maybe it's Jan. 16. Either way, it will be probably mid to late March before I first get to lay my eyes on the prize. Must......stay.......distracted........or........c razy I will be!

On the plus side, hopefully I won't have to deal with oil pan replacements or ECU flashes given the later production date.
