SSX Bay Area People

Alright, Let's all get together and make the trip. I've never been to one of this, but it would be great if we can get together and hang out as a group. So, start making plans and let's make it happen, C'mon Bay Area Represent....(got a little carried away)

d j 08-19-2007 11:34 PM

I'm in... I might leave a day early since I volunteered to help out and they need us to show up early for setup/prep.

Throwdown 08-20-2007 12:07 AM

I've never been either. Of course I'm down!

N rider89 08-20-2007 01:52 AM

Ever Hernandez 08-20-2007 07:39 AM

What's up Niel, how ya been? Hopefully you can make the trip with us.

Scionstock 10. It's going to be awesome!

8rotor8 08-20-2007 05:35 PM

What weekend is it exactly... Should we just do an 8 caravan or should we join up with the 7's.

Spinbreakz 08-20-2007 05:44 PM

WHAT IS SSX!?! If its dealin with Scions, im sooooooo going.

Icemark 08-20-2007 06:03 PM

I normally run the Late Bay Area Caravan for the NorCal7 group that includes rotaries from almost every gen. And this year I will be driving the '8 instead of a 7. I start in the North Bay, but we have two stops to pick up people from South bay and Sac.

09/21/2007: The Nor Cal Rotary Pilgrimage for the 5th year to Seven Stock10
Details:http://www.rx7club.com/showthread.php?t=677298

Last year we had over 50 cars in the Caravan at one point, but with personal radios (tuned to Channel 7) and multiple stops it seems to work out okay.

Throwdown 08-20-2007 07:22 PM

I'd love to cruise down with the 7's

TougeFiend 08-20-2007 07:43 PM

Already planned on going, was just looking for the thread :D: I'm down if you guys want to do just an 8 caravan, otherwise we should just join up with the others.

TheDosDog 08-20-2007 07:52 PM

Sounds like there will be a few more 8s this year. I think I'll be joining the late caravan.

Yeah, last year we only had two '8s but since I generally lead the Caravan and will be driving my '8 instead of my old vert I was hoping that we will have a more balanced contingent.

We even had a couple of 2's last year.

We generally don't open it up too fast, trying to keep the speed under the attention of the law enforcement.

8rotor8 08-20-2007 09:41 PM

What roads do you plan on taking to SoCal? 580 to the 5?

d j 08-20-2007 09:58 PM

...man that sucks that i won't be there for the caravan/convoy, are you guys doing the same thing on the way back?

Ever Hernandez 08-20-2007 10:41 PM

Hey guys, we should start making Hotel reservations now for those of us who are staying the weekend. David I don't think all of us are gonna fit in your mom's house. hehe

d j 08-20-2007 11:57 PM

where do you guys plan on making reservations? doubletree?

Ever Hernandez 08-21-2007 12:19 AM

yeah, that would be the one

d j 08-21-2007 12:37 AM

I'm makin' a reservation just for SAT night...

We tried doing the return caravan a couple of times, but most people seem to just want to drive back at odd times.

TougeFiend 08-21-2007 12:56 AM

I took the liberty of adding my name to the list at RX7club.com. See you all out there :)

d j 08-21-2007 12:58 AM

^I tried to make a reservation using the SRX rate but I was told that it has all been booked =/ I even tried to get their military rates but again I was told that there were none available... I ended up bookin' a room for $139 + TAX ...no biggie, just means that the wifey and my daughters are gonne be on a cup o' noodles diet a little bit longer =D

8rotor8 08-21-2007 11:41 AM

Just borrow some garden fresh foods from Rob!!! hahaha.

Back to SSX, when and where is the pick up point in the south bay?

My parents can be a pit stop. I can have a few people sleep over, we have some comfy couches. It my moms b-day weekend too, just bring her a gift!

d j 08-21-2007 12:30 PM

I got a room with 2 doubles, open to anybody who doesn't snore like king kong!

Throwdown 08-21-2007 01:37 PM

I'll need a place to sleep!

Ever Hernandez 08-22-2007 01:35 AM

I stayed at the Ayres in orange when I went to Disneyland, wasn't bad at all. The Block (outdoors mall) is close by with some good places to eat and movies. I think the rate was $99

Spinbreakz 08-22-2007 10:23 AM

Dick, let me car pool with you down there!

8rotor8 08-22-2007 10:48 AM

You guys can find a place around Lakewood or Cerritos too. We'll meet up with the caravan at cerritos and drive with 50+ RX8's

Throwdown 08-22-2007 02:25 PM

I'll sleep in my car then and just use someone's shower in the morning. Tom you can ride down with me no problem.

Spinbreakz 08-22-2007 02:31 PM

Hmmm, sleep in the car. that could be comfortable. Ill even help out with gas.

Is anyone doing the dinner thing for 75 bucks or whatever it said?

if you and tom don't mind sharing a bed, you can use the extra bed in my room. but if you're not feeling the man love, then you guys can fight to the death for it and the dead guy will be on the floor or couch (if there is one, which I highly doubt)

TougeFiend 08-22-2007 02:57 PM

Expedia.com and hotels.com are your friend ;)

Spinbreakz 08-22-2007 04:00 PM

Floor sounds good to me :). Thanks bro. I love the RX8 love. Maybe i wont sell it

Throwdown 08-22-2007 04:02 PM

Sweet I was down for the duel to the death but since Tom is afraid of his sexuality and also not as good of a fighter as me, he's conceded defeat and the bed is mine!

Spinbreakz 08-22-2007 04:08 PM

LOL! so its on then? We can carpool and we have a place to crash? SWEET!!!!!!!!

8rotor8 08-22-2007 06:01 PM

Lets see who gets the best MPG!

Spinbreakz 08-22-2007 06:29 PM

hahaha, so wait a second, are we leaving on a friday or saturday? and if friday, what time?

Silver_Mazda09 08-22-2007 09:42 PM

well my caravan leave's the Tracy rest stop at 10am Friday, since the event starts Friday night and goes all day Saturday.

But there are multiple stops on the way for picking up others

8rotor8 08-22-2007 11:57 PM

So lets see who can leave for SSX and when can they go.

1. 8rotor8 - Friday night would be best, late night run. Pending on taking Friday off.

Ever Hernandez 08-23-2007 12:06 AM

David, try to ask for friday off. I already have.

8rotor8 08-23-2007 12:11 AM

I will no worries, but I'd rather make sure before I commit to it.

d j 08-23-2007 08:06 AM

I'm in...

gr8thandling 08-23-2007 10:39 AM

i'm not sure yet but i might go. when is this again?

Throwdown 08-23-2007 12:24 PM

Bah I hate asking for days off. I'll try to get it though. I want to caravan with the big group :)

8rotor8 08-23-2007 03:03 PM

Damn it people add your name to the list:

1. 8rotor8 - Friday night would be best, late night run. Pending on taking Friday off.

2. Ever - Leaving Friday morning, off all weekend.

Spinbreakz 08-23-2007 04:31 PM

I'm in Manteca, let me know when you want to roll.

Ever Hernandez 08-23-2007 06:21 PM

SSX begins Friday sept 21st through Sunday 23. Guys I'll be totally worth it if a good # of us can have Friday off so we caravan with the bigger group.
