i cant live without cruise control, i will be going liike 80 or 85 all the time if i dont use it and i really dnt need any speeding tickets... i always cruise control at like 70, saves gas too.

Erm,...on the highway I use cruise regardless of if it's dry or wet. The only time I don't dependent on weather is a) an absolute downpour or b) enough snow covering. Must be a mentality for those mid-atlantic, southern states like those who slow down way below the speed limit when snow falls and hasn't even covered the highway.

 

well I didn't think it was an issue, but rory told me it's not a safe thing to do...what with loss of traction and the car would continue to accelerate...something like that

If the roads are wet or have snow on them and your cruise control is on, if you start to hydroplane the car will speed up to try and match the cruise control speed causing you to hydroplane even worse.

 

I've never seen it be an issue..but I'm not going to argue if someone wants to be overly safe

Hydroplaning vastly occurs in heavy rain aka downpours which I don't use cruise in. For regular rain or just wet roads, I've never seen it be an issue. Hell I'd go over 70 on snow covered highways with snow tires on...I grew up used to it I guess.

rocky: cleaning out the connection is fairly simple, you just need to remove the intake box to get easier access to the connection. (or at least with the Racing Beat intake)
Once you have the connection unplugged, spray it with electrical contact cleaner, allow to dry and reconnect.

reinstall in reverse order. Give Dozer some beer and I'm sure he can help you out if you need.


Nothing too new with me, feeling a bit better today. I just made a spontanious purchase last night and I'm not stressing that I won't have the parts installed by the dyno day.

Rocky: dozer's helped clean out the connectors for a couple of 8 owners - we can get some adaptable silicone hoses to fix that overflow issue too..

 

haha yea it sounds hella easy to clean the connectors but i wanted it soldered on so i wouldnbt have to worry bout it, imma hit dozer up see when he is free, throw a burger or something his way for his help haha :p

 

yeah, I had a better night sleep last night and the swelling is going down on my knee.
