i'm possibly moving down there in September, but i am unfamiliar with the L.A. area. I'm looking for a house or apartment in a neighborhood somewhere up to a 20 minute drive to CSULA and have up to $800/month i can afford for rent. i'm going down next week to check out Alhambra and San Gabriel, is there anywhere else that would be a good/safe place to consider and check out while i'm down there?

i lived in alhambra, it was nice but too far from the freeway. it annoyed the **** outta me. el monte is great. lots of food choices. i'm in highland park now. ******* hipsters...

my 1bd apartment in alhambra was $850/month, should check that out

 

thanks kingsfan. lol, i'll stay away from highland park then, i get enough hipsters living so close to Berkley. i'll check out El Monte too for the food then, i liked Alhambra cause there was a Boiling Crab nearby.
