Funny thing, you guys know who Bob Bondurant is right? He owns the high performance driving school stuff. Well he lives over here by MM and I and I see him on occasion going to the track. He drives a Smart car with a Bondurant Driving School sticker on it. Pretty funny.

quick question...

how long do any of you think i can drive on one blown coilover?

i got a new set of coilovers,, havent put them on yet cause i got my hub replaced and seems to not make any more noise.. i guess my barring went out...

but.. theres no noise anymore... and was thinking it was my blown coil.. but i got my car back from the shop and now theres no clanking or anything...

but i know for a fact that the coil on the same side i got my hub replaces is blow..
so how long do you think i can drive on it?
cause as of right now i have no time to install my new coilovers.. and i need to drive my car.. so ya... let me know.

 

you mean strut or coil? I'm assuming you mean strut. you can drive on that for a while...

the longer you drive on it the more pressure it puts on the spring and the spring can deform and compress and now you have lopsided springs and the car looks funny.

+1 w/shady regarding the blown strut.

You CAN ride around on it for a while - should you tho?? no...

Don't go driving around for months like that tho. get it changed out by this weekend at least...

 

ok. and it was one of my adjustable coilovers.. oil was leaking out.. i figured i wouldnt have an compression or anything anymore and it was basically be just the spring... and ya i dont really care if my spring gets deformed.. cause i have a new set of megan adjustable coilovers. just no time to install them...

 

they blew cause i had the megan prototypes.. i finally got the final version, lol..

 

lol well see about that Megan isn't exactly known for their quality bro.

I've always liked bilstein but i've been under a rock as of late. Been too obsessed about wheels that i haven't really been reading up on suspension like i should I was gonna pull the trigger on some stances or some pro 7's n' call it a day but these look so legit i might wanna hold out.

alright guys I"m thinking this saturday(5/22/10) we'll hold a mini/normal beach cruise same as atilla's but yeah dont see the difference............... starting point is the same at irvine at parking lot across from mazda headquarters at 9am and we leave around 930-10am for late comers, taking the 133 hwy down to pch end at main st. and eat at either BJ's or Beer co. should be finished around 12-12:30noon

spur of the moment on you guys i know sorry about that but planning this out is hard for me so i'm Putting this together for beach cruises to kick off and to show my out of state friend how we kick things off in socal rx8 club if you cant make it thats fine i'll be holding a bon fire kick back saturday night at 6ish at my house so friends/family welcome to come
