Cops usually ignore loud motorcycles because they're such a small vehicle, people can't really see them. To compensate for this, they make their bikes loud so that people can hear you, especially if you're in their blind spot. If you have a bike, you probably want to make it as loud as possible to alert people that you're there and avoid an accident.

I am just stating noise in general. If the bikes can be loud and obnoxious to let other know they are there, the same can be applied to cars as well. Noise pollution is noise pollution whether it's from a car, bike, or loud *** stereo system. by the way I am not going off on you. I just find certain laws are stupid because of the double standard that the government imposed.
