I put 245 on my 18x8

Trust me....255 is a lot better , a lot more grip...

 

Try my car next week, to take some corners, you will like it 255 are awesome...
I know 275 is even better, but not much choices of tires
255/40/17 is cheaper and better

you may need some rolling as i'm not too familiar with 17" wheel fitment (i usually work with 18's and 19's) The offset is aggressive but your diameter is smaller which may be more forgiving.

But i think i know where you're going with 245 tires though - though it'll be stretched it'll serve as more helpful to avoid fender roll. It might just work.

 

If you are planning get some new tires, I would highly recommend this one
