Granted, the stock header is 'fine', the same what the stock catback is 'fine'. There aren't many gains from either, but they are there. So if you want to include one, you have to include the other. Meyer Motorsports did tons of header R+D, and developed their own off of what they learned. If there was nothing there, they would still be with stock.

Actually your incorrect. Everything from the header back is somewhat restrictive by design. To help quiet the whole thing down. Also for catalytic converter protection, they made the fuel mix too rich. All those reasons all result in loss of power. All race tracks have straights. And that's where the vettes and porches pass you.
