SF Bay Area open invite: installing MS side skirts 11/12/05

HaloX asked for some help installing MS side skirts on his car and we'll be doing so starting 1pm at my place in Hayward. If you're interested in learning how or simply hang out while we work, send me a PM. I estimate it will take two or three hours to complete the project.

He also has an OEM shock sensor he's not sure how to install. He plans to bring it as well in case anyone can figure it out.

Heh, I also have some lights to install (high beam bulbs, stealth bulbs etc). I'm not sure if there would be time for that, but I will bring those a long too, time permitting.

WE installed my MS sideskirts ourselves too. It was pretty cake. They provide all the templates if it's factory part. There are just a couple of confusing areas where you'll flip the paper around to figure out which way is right. We had to tap a couple of holes into the body, i think four on each side, and then simply mounted the side skirts on. I think once you guys kinda cut out the templates and tape them to the car it will be super fast. Let me know if you need a heads up on the tools we used or the type of drill bit.

I'm in Milpitas so not too far away. I gotta work Saturday so I probably can't come thru but you can always shoot me a PM for our number and you can have our advice on tap while i'm at work.

Laters, Rishie

Thanks for the offer but this will be the third set of skirts I've helped install. As you said it's pretty straightforward.

Halox, can you cut out all the templates before Saturday? That will speed things up a little.

I installed a shock sensor on mine about 1.5 years ago. If I'm not busy trying to fix my car, I'll PM PURNRG for an address and stop by.

I might go if I'm not doing anything. I can help with the headlights and sensor installation.

How did the installation go? What front/rear did you go with anyway?

Im going with the Mazdaspeed setup. Installation was straightforward, except for my *expert* handling of the power drill.

Did you end up scratching up the side or something?

Nah, it was just that it was my first time using a power drill and it was pretty embarrassing asking PUR NRG, "how do you take off the drill bit ? " lol. Yeah, i know it was instances like these that were what i call *expert* handling. At least I will know how to take of the drill bit next time. lol

You STILL haven't got them from him. That was like beginning of Aug I first heard you mention them. Might as well buy them off ebay or another user.

hahaha I wish I can get them to you but it's at my other place. When I switched to coilovers I left the springs compressed to the shock plus I don't have a spring compressor, if you want to you can buy them and give me your shocks you have now. Pm me we can talk.
