Skip work. I need a better co-pilot than Prissy in the backseat.

I've had really good luck with my navigation system and not gotten lost, although one time on my way home (forgot to turn if off after I found my way back to the freeway) It got a little "confused." The main roads were closed due to some sort of construction so I had to take some detours, which were basically old logging roads and not much traveled. Anyway, partway down that road it told me to "perform a legal U-turn" while I was in the middle of a gully basically. Meanwhile, this is a very narrow road with no shoulder whatsoever that goes into steep drop offs on both sides and barely wide enough for two lanes of traffic.

Alright everyone, it's time for the Million Dollar question:

Since last year's Sevenstock, what new mods have you done to your car? (you are allowed to omit ONE mod if you want to make that a surprise for the meet) I'll start....

-Limo Tinted windows
-Racing Beat Revi Intake
-Racing Beat Air Duct
-Racing Beat Exhaust
-RP Short Shifter
-Front Splash Guards
-Painted Red Calipers
-Rotary Center Caps
-Rotary Valve Stem Caps
-Heon Xenon Match Fog Lights (with fog light rewire)
-Stealth bulbs on all blinkers

Hmm, I think that just about covers it for me. How about the rest of you?

Well, my car's still pretty much bone stock, but what the heck:

- Apple Computer logo (classic) static cling window stickers... $6
- Curled aluminum valve stem caps... $5
- Mazda RX-8 nose mask... $110

I have to rethink going now. My full-time job just laid me off tonight due to budget cuts. Since I have worked there just under six months I have really low seniority. They laid off the three most recently hired people first, which included me, so I'm now looking for a new full-time job and have a really tight budget. I still have a part-time job but it doesn't cover much of anything. They conveniently laid me off three days before the date came due that I would meet my eligibility requirement to get my $1500 hiring bonus.

They are expecting to lay off 12 more people before the end of the quarter. Sad, considering my department at the hospital only employs 80 people.

Hopefully, I got started early enough to get hired at one of the other jobs I applied at today before the others start applying. Kinda sucks to be me, though. The other women laid off all have husbands so a second income to fall back on and I just have a part-time job and unemployment (which is not much).

Everything should all work out soon for me, though.

I'm hopeful. One place wants me to come in tomorrow afternoon, so hopefully that is a good sign. Would be nice, too, since it's only like 20 minutes from my house and the one I just lost was a 50 minute drive if there wasn't any traffic.

I drove from LA to Portland twice, it was tiring. It does take lots of dedication for that trip.
