Probably not.
We are coming from the other direction. It doesn't make sense to drive away from the event just to get in the back of a caravan and come back.
We are already at the event the night before because tof the location of our hotel.

 

The RCCAZ guys decided against it. That's the general consensus

 

thats sucks itll be nice to see 100+ rx in one caravan

 

What would suck is getting out at 5:30 am to join another caravan, yet still ending up at the back of a line of 200+ cars!

 

I was checking in and watching it from time to time. I just never new what the actual project was

 

Thanks for tuning in! I wish we could have done a better job of filming the individual stages as we went along but we had a lot of work ahead of us and were a bit short handed.
If we would have dedicated one person to manage the camera, we would have never finished. As it was, I didn't leave for home until almost 1:30 am (and we started at 10 am)

 

Oh man this is going to be fun.

Repainting my front wheel tonight and detailing the engine bay.
Then washing / waxing.

 

Lots of us are going to the banquet including RCCAZ1, MazdaManiac, SwtBlnde and myself. Lots more too. Sho uld be fun. Personally I'm not making zoom zoom live. I would like to check out Newport Beach though and am in hopes our caravan is interested too.

 

I've signed up for both of those here to be towed along by the support vehicle. I already picked up a fresh new container of antifreeze and a couple gallons of distilled water. I'm bringing a small case of socket thingies and other stuff in there too like pliers.

I have 2 FRS radios and so does SwtBlnde. That means we'll both have an extra for other caravaners to use. At CostCo today I saw 2 motorola 6350's I think for $50. Hella great deal, including headsets.

I'm thinking about heading over to Boxcars tomorrow to start the detailing work.; we'll see what the day holds I'm fairly confident it'll take 2 days to get it all the nooks and crannies done.

 

Just like a bunch of busy little beavers hard at work getting ready for the big event.
I'm done with everything but an oil change on Wednesday and new tires on Thursday.
I love it when a plan comes together!

I will have an extra radio also if the need arises.

 

Hey! When are you doing this? I wouldn't mind stopping by and partaking of the festivities!

Also - I have two radios, too. Hopefully they are compatible with everyone else's radios.

Are you guys seriously backing out from the caravan with the Socal people? It would be cool to see well over 100 RX's taking over the O.C. freeway system.
How many of you are true rotary fans and are still in for the early morning drive?

 

We are in for the early morning drive.
But while you are coming down, we will already be at the front of the line.

As I said - we will have driven 7 hours to get there on Friday.
Does it make sense to drive two hours out of our way up and back so that we can arrive at Mazda in time to be at the back of the line?

Do you guys intend to get going at 4am?

 

Sorry, I just wanted to see a huge caravan.
It is less than 30 minutes away.
And If you are afraid of the parking situation ; obviously you have not seen the parking lot there.
I am sure we have a few rotor-heads that will make it. Too bad it wont be all of them.

 

30 minutes means at least an hour up and back. Then you have logistics.
People will be waiting there by 6am, so you guys will want to be under way well before that.

I drove by the lot last week while I was in LA. It is really big, but there is only one way in and out.
It is going to take a few hours to get everyone in and parked and I would just as soon have the best space rather than being in the middle of a sea of RX-7s.
