i've seen basic ones for sale at auto stores..liek advanced auto adn pep boys (on the east coast)...so i'm sure if you go to whatever is the equivilent on the west coast you can get one they run liek 100-150 for the basic one tha tcan read adn clear codes for OBD-II ... but it won't do manufacturer specific codes....just the run of the mill stuff.

interesting.....i have one by matco tools at work and it's a basic one liek that and it wodl reset codes..cost is like 150-200 somethign like that. not sure what it goes for today...i'll be getting a can scan tool soon to replace it tha tcan do freeze fram and active test. but it ain't cheap
