In San Diego for two weeks. What's there to do?

I just arrived on Christmas. Staying with my parents at their new house. I know the tourist spots since I have been to such places a few times in the past. I am looking for an automotive experience this time. Any locations where I can do some "shopping" and such? Quite a vague and lame thread, I know. Keep in mind that I do have a car to take me around while I am here.

The TV shows "Drinking Made Easy" & "Man vs Food" have visited there. You could go to their websites and visit the spots they suggest.

I'm not too familiar with San Diego. I used to go there a lot but it's been years.

The only things i can suggest are places to drink n' hang out.

Altitude Skylounge: http://www.altitudeskylounge.com/enter

Tipsy Crow: http://thetipsycrow.com/

Both places are in Gas Lamp, which is a bit of a hot spot. (altho iono how it is in the winter time ).

PB (Pacific Beach) is also pretty chill but iono how it is during the winter.

I don't know much about the San Diego area regarding car stuffz...but i do know there is Palomar Mt. Check out Lateralg.com - there should be some road suggestions.

I haven't been to san diego in a while but i hope this helps a lil'...

In Point Loma - the local RX Club meet is on Saturday January 7 at noon. 7s and 8s. We meet in Liberty Station around 11:30, gab and then walk to a place for an inexpensive and casual lunch.

and, I'd second the auto show recommendation. +1

I might hit up Altitude. Missed the auto show, though I see the same if not bigger event at the NYAS every year. Might have to hit up the meet too if I have time. I was in downtown yesterday and left gas lamp around 6:00PM before it started getting too busy. I've been busy renovating my parent's house in Linda Vista for the most part. Actually that's all I've been doing with the exception of yesterday . Keep the suggestions coming, they're much appreciated.

lol - i'm almost afraid to ask...how'd you break your hand on the thursday night?

(because breaking your hand on a weekend, a monday or Friday makes total sense in CA.)
