San Diego Meet!
San Diego Meet!
Can someone host one? There's a bunch of OC and LA meets yet no SD meets. I know there's a ton of people here with 8's. All we need is a non-rapist person to host an event in their driveway :3
^ lol @ non-rapist
there is a meet first saturday of each month...i've gone to some of them! the 7s club organizes it.
we had a really fun caravan to 7stock in september.
the 8 peeps down here definitely not as gung-ho on meets as the OC-LA guyz are.

I was thinking more of a lets use someone driveway to install crap. And I know about the cruises but something about driving fast on mountains makes me uneasy.
haha a meet doesn't necessarily mean a cruise...
for example..pick a spot...preffereably a shopping center with lots of parking and light and food around...set a date and time and wala! you got yourself a meet! haha
anyways as far as driveways goo dozer's is one of a kind..

Here's my 2 bits to offer, but, perhaps, you should consider the source, an RX-7 owner.

As UrbanOcho suggested, come on out to the monthly meets - first Saturday. Start with that and if there is a big enough crowd, grow a separate meet. We're just trying to get the local rotary community together. Keep the construction projects to another time of the month.
I believe you almost came out to either one of our meets or to our last drive in North County. Everything in SoCal is a drive. Clear that obstacle out of your head. Just make up your mind and go for it. You missed a really nice drive and it wasn't an insane pace! Everyone had great pizza at the end returned in one piece.
If you feel you're not that good of a driver, then I highly recommend you check out some performance driving schools, or something along those lines. Won't make you a reacer; but, it will make you more confident handling your car. That, in and of itself, is a great plus amongst the "drivers' on the freeways.
AutoX is the least expensive, with open track and real schools following. If you look at any book on driving skills, the first point is to address the 'nut' behind the wheel; upgrade your tires and then blow the money from there.
Anyway, my apologies for the long post. Check out our monthly events and drag some other "8" owners along, as well.

ps,
You might just find out that some of the "7" guys know a thing or two about the "8".
Well, thank you for your input. I'll try to come out for april. I just hope I get new tires beforehand because currently the ones I have won't "hug" the mountain and I might just fly off. Which is bad. I didn't make the last one because I overslept, which was my fault.
I didn't make the last few meets. But last time I went there was at least 4 Rx8s including mine. The sevenstock cruise was an even number of rx7s and rx8s heading up the day before the event to Irvine and partying it up at the hotel with the norcal heads.
Springs coming back. Every Friday there's a meet at the San Marcos In-n-Out off San Marcos Blvd. I'm usually there with 2 other 8's. There are a lot of different cars that go to that and it's a pretty chill place to be and make fun of all the Honda's as they get pulled over in the parking lot for starting races...
