Hello San Diego Rotor-heads:
I am looking for a decent place to service my 2004 rx-8, 6sp GT. Until now I have been using John Hine where I purchased the car, but have not been feeling any love from them, just over stated maintenance service schedule and not honoring their promise to me at least. So any recommendation in the greater SD area will be GREATLY appreciated.

Westscott mazda in National City. They have a rotary mech that has worked on them since day 1 his name is fidel i think.

yeah we really do need to get a freakin' meet going i've been here in camp pen for 3 yrs now and never been at one meet....

 

If you don't want to go the dealership route, checkout Z Whizz (http://www.zwhizz.com/). My family has been taking rotaries there for 20 years and these guys are awesome. I can't say enough about them. They work on all makes/models but specialize in Zs and RXs. At any given time their service lot has a number of RX-7s and 8s waiting for work.

Hello SDR'S! ..i stayed at the gaslamp district over the weekend and saw a yellow 8 with enkei wheels...autocross type wheels...anyhoot...thought i'd represent..haha gaslamp was awesome...sooo many women! like wowsers omfgoshers.. i'll be there again on the 13th and 14th..

 

Im glad sombody brought up the fact, John Hine Mazda lacks customer service and has practiced shaddyness. Im also looking the top notch RX8 tech in San Diego, mah 8 needs help and I want to give her the best. LOL I found a place in Santee( east county), they do it all from turbos to superchargers.. But.. I dont get a good feeling from them. Tim the owner employees some potheads. Dont get me wrong Iv known some really smart potheads but not many I would let work on mah car. Im all about customer service and profesionalism- the wow effect. Any other recomendations? THX!

I'm like a block away from Westcott Mazda, but would never use them for repair. It's the ghetto. I only go there to order crush washers and get oil filters. It reminds me of a junk yard.

I thought John Hine was the best I've tried so far for a Madza dealership.

Usually I think all the dealership, and in fact all auto shops, all seem shady to me. Dirty and shady and poor quality. Nobody in the auto business cares to do a good job on your auto, only yourself.

how about a meet up tonight at starbucks in national city? i usually see bunch of domestic/import cars on thursday get together. or we can have a pot luck in mt. hawk park in chula vista; nice place to cruise around. let me know if anyone is interested.

im currently not in san diego and won't be often enough until after sevenstock. a couple people have moved and we haven't actually had a meet in about a year.

whats going ya'll im new to this site. i have an 04 custom two-toned paint job with matching wheels custom staggered wheels 19" with some interior work nah much but it looks clean. im in the oceanside area ii'll post a pic once i figure how to post em on this site. ive done few car shows from DUB, HIN and nighshift in san diego an LA i found out today theres some type of meeting/show going on Irvine next month all rotary engines. im down to meet up and roll. holla back anybody!!!!!!!!!
