rx-8 vs a porsche turbo = stanford university vs the new england patriots.

must be football season

...porsche turbo? a 911? a cayenne? wtf?..."99.9 of rx-8 drivers don't race or know how except for [you, megaman]" wtf? this thread DOES FAIL IN EVERY WAY.

We should take a poll, how many people on this forum actually go to their local or nearby raceway to run the 1/8mile or 1/4mile? i will even throw in Auto X -ing since thats the ideal place for our 8's. Many people think our cars our not made to compete. What about you MIKEFERZ? do you run your car?

I think I've got about 15 passes down the drag strip in my RX8. I did it just for fun cause you can only see 15.5 - 16.0 1/4 mile times so much.

sweet man, atleast we are trying you know. Whats this a stock RX8? street tires? I pulled 14.7 on stock tires and stock car when i first bought it. now with a few mods and slicks im hoping to get high 13's maybe 14 flat. but like you said.........................just for fun.

That was with most of my current mods. Problem is all the wheel hop off the line robs me of at least 2 tenths. That was with the KUHMO tires I'm running as well. Most of my times are mostly due to the launch. I'm sure with better traction I'd go lower 15's.

Contrary to popular belief...its not a slouch in the 1/4...in fact I would say its rather decent in stock form for what it has...

But this car was not designed for something as simple as 1/4 times...it doesn't suck at it...but it really shines doing what it was designed to do...

pwn teh f'n twistuahs...

best i have seen with FI on a renesis is 13's......its not a 1/4 car....you could have the 911 take off its sway bars and strut bars and put hyundai excel springs on it and then try and race it in the twisties......that might work too

How about adding real race tracks too? I have a couple of tires and tanks wasted on trackdays. Purely for fun so it is no racing, no timing or anything that might tempt me to go over the cars ability and smash my car into the side.

I know I am fast for an average driver but nowhere near a pro. And I think there are a lot of people like me in the RX-8 crowd.

Or you can be more direct and beat-up the owner with a baseball bat.

if you ever get the chance to buy or borrow slick tires like me, im telling you, its heaven, and it makes a heck of alot of diffrennce, no wheel hop. you just take off from the line clean.

real race tracks aswell. The point im trying to prove here is, it dont matter if our cars "were not meant to compete" as long as you are having a little fun with it. what is the point of having a sports car if you cant drive it to its pontential? im sure you will spank me and my 8 persmitt if i race at your level
