RX8 shop in Los Angeles

Hi Guys,

Sorry to ask:

Is there any good RX8 garages/shops, with staff that really know how to deal with Rx8's?

I'm worried that my Rx8 engine might be broken, and I need to rebuild it or get a new one.

http//www.rotaryresurrection.com

I found some site like this, unfortunately, its for those in TN.

I live in Los Angeles, and would appreciate if someone could please direct me to someone like this who works in Southern California close to me.

Thanks a lot!

Best wishes

Thanks brother!

Here's my situation:

I have a 2006 RX8, with 20,600 miles driven on it. Recently the check engine light came on, and I brought it to the dealership.

They explained to me over the phone that the Compression test went OK, but the spark plugs need to be replaced (at 550.00).
Also, I've noticed hesitation during startups (sometimes), never anything longer than 3 seconds, but still not robust.

I know I get paranoid, but I just want my engine to run well. Maybe I'll go to that place in Temple City.
Thanks!

since your car is still well under warranty, i would work on trying to get them do all of it as warranty repair. either way, $550 for plugs is absolutely ludicrous; they cost ~$120 so just do it yourself. i'd do the coils also. there aren't that many good mazda dealers in soCal, i don't recommend any of them. for shops, i'd recommend mazdatrix in signal hill, tripoint in canoga park (expensive!), and sidepex in temple city. sidepex is awesome, it's my favorite rotary shop along w/ mazdatrix, but i dunno how much they like rx-8's; they should definitely be able to do plugs tho. tripoint is pretty professional but is almost as expensive as the dealer, or even more. mazdatrix is great, but they get pretty busy so you'd need to call ahead

but like i said, your car is well within standard warranty, not to mention the 100k mile engine warranty. i'd work on getting some service out of those warranties

You may want to try decarbing your engine first. Carb build up on
Your rotors can cause low compression. Decarb then put new plugs in that should work

To decarb your engine, just buy a can of seafoam and a tube..it's pretty easy.

Unhappy Idel

Having problems with the cars idel, it does not stay constant. It's always unstable when warwing up and when I put it on "N" . Don't know if it's sucking air from somewhere, or it might be the spark plugs???????? Any advice!!!!!!!!
