Who is Jon Dotson??
Come on out and join us for a fun day in the sun at the largest water park in Southern California. There will be RC Car Races, vendors, all sorts of cool Mazda's to check out, and raffle drawings with prizes ranging the
gambit of Mazda marques.

And who you ask is this that we are raising the money for? Well, have you ever had a friend who would do anything for you no matter what it was? Have you ever had a friend who was in an accident and was seriously injured? Have you ever felt like you wanted to do something for that friend, but didn't know what? Well, now is your chance to be able to help a friend who
has been willing to do anything for his friends and who was in an accident and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Jon Dotson has been a great friend of the Mazda community for many years and he needs our help.

Jon is a young 29 year old guy who has had his life changed for him in a way that cannot be fixed (at least not yet). It is our goal as his friends to make sure that he can live as comfortable of a life as possible with as much independence as he can. To this end, Barbara Beach (MazdaSport Magazine Editor) and her family are donating her beloved 1st Generation RX-7 to be retrofit so that Jon can drive with his hands and Jon’s father is renovating his home so that Jon can have mobility and freedom.

Excellent!! I think it's going to cost a few more bucks to register the day-of, so you might want to register early!

Yes, you can just pay the regular Raging Waters parking fee and park in the regular lot and walk over to the show. But, it's a better deal if you pay for the show... you'll also support the reason for the show, Mr. Jon Dotson.

ok, ROTARY people... let's make a big showing at this deal, and help out fellow Mazda guy Jon D., whose life has changed dramatically! We can help, all while having fun!!! I know most of you the RX-7 guys are Cheap B's (I hope 8s folks aren;t) , but this is for a good cause and it should be a blast for the Rotary Community to participate at the first of it's kind in So-Cal, all Mazda show. Bern... are we going to have to leave our keys with "Other People" or can we take our keys with us to the park...?

 

No, I don't think that you need to leave your keys with anyone. If you're in the show, and you want to show-off interior or stereo enhancments, then you might just want to verify when the judges will be around to review your ride, so you can be there to open the car. No requirements to hand your keys to anyone!

Dude... Bern... We're 18 hours away... and I NEED to know.... What happens after 4PM? do we need to come out of the park and move our cars... and then go back into the park... or what?

Just kidding my man... I'm sure that if you're in the park having fun, you'll be able to leave your car there (show area) until the park closes.

Thanks for the good time guys Had a blast. Didnt go to the pools or nething but the cars rocked, the crowd was great. And the raffle rocked, came out a winner.

to the Raging Mazdas All Mazda Benefit Car Show.

I also want to thank again all of those who have worked hard next to me for
the past six months in planning this event. I really could not have done
with out you - Berny, Stephanie, Brian, Terry, Zack, Bari, Linda, Joe, many
from MOCC, Dan...

Now for what you all are wanting to know - we were able to raise $2,000.00
for Jon! This just goes to show that there are a whole bunch of people out
there who are willing to help raise money for a single individual - and they
are all wonderfully caring people! Thanks to all of the registrations, the
raffle ticket sales, the t-shirt sales and all of the wonderful straight
donations, we were able to go above and beyond even my wildest expectations.

Oh, and in case you would like to continue to support Jon, or would like to
and wasn't able to originally, we are keeping the www.ragingmazdas.org
website open. You are more than welcome to go there and donate any amount of
money that you would like. We will also be selling the t-shirts online, so
make sure to grab yours before they disappear.
