Oil Change Woes

I just moved to San Jose, CA from a rural area in PA. I've been working on cars for years (owned a high moddled DSM for years) and I'd like to do my own oil changes. However, I live in a apartment complex and I'm wondering what I can do with the old oil. Are their free collection places where you can drop it off or what? What do you do-it-yourselfers do when you live in a urban area?

welcome to the forums!
most big auto parts stores have free used oil collection points, (kragen, autozone, etc) I think autozone still gives you few cents off of your next purchase for every gallon of used oil that you dropped off.

being in norcal, it is mandatory for you to report here (j/k):

Welcome to the area. We have a meet every Friday night in Union City at 7 if you'd like to stop by and meet other 8 drivers from the area.

yeah, almost every automotive store I've been to will collect old oil without charge.

Question I have is - do these places also take radiator fluid? I've got 5 gallons of it sitting in my garage right now

And they all seem to go into the same container.
