Exclamation Need some NorCal Opinions

Okay guys, I'm getting to my wits end here trying to choose which rims I want to go with... now I'm wondering if these black rims would go well on a my TiGray (Mike? Suggestions?) Possible backup...

Heh... now another question... how much of a role did the forums play in the choices you made for parts, kits and such? So many people seem to hate 3-spokes, but I thought if Lazi pulled them off, then I probably could too. In the end, you guys went with your guts right?

I guess I'm trying to be at peace.

Like you guys said, it's really hard.

i think murix has rp03s on his titanium gray, and it looks really good. I'm not a big fan on three spokes, so I guess i'm a bit biased. But I don't think black and tit grey would go along real well, maybe gunmeta but not gloss black.

I think the Enkei's may look better with the Vertex kit you want. I love the 3 spokes on Sam's car, but have seem them on other cars and haven't cared for the look. I think it just depends on the kit. The forum hasn't really played that much of a role in the things I've decided to buy. As far as looks, I normally try to picture what things will look like on my car, in my color, and so far its worked out. Engine stuff...I definitely haven't listened to others, but I wish I did. Could have saved myself several thousand dollars, but I had to learn the hard way.

I think you're going in the right direction with the kit. Get a nice lip spoiler, but don't copy FE3P's. Tint the windows maybe like 20% all around, get the Enkei's, and some coilovers for a nice drop. As far as engine mods, it really depends on how much work you want to put into the car. Just remember, the more HP you want, the more work and monitoring you'll have to do. Turbo>SC>NA. Just take your time and decide what you really want.

words from the wise... hehe

yea the forum hasn't really played out what I want to put on the car exterior wise. If thats the case I would've had a ms kit with some volks like everyone else does. Just go with your styling and what you think would look good on the car. Vertex lang is a great choice, but rims wise just try to picture the combination, if you're happy with it than go with it, it's your car and the last thing I want to do is tell people how to spend there hard earn money. Kinda like what I did with my rims, noone has mesh type rims, and a lot of people felt it only looks right on european cars, but I love mesh wheels and bought and installed them and hey thats my style, I guess.

i personally don't care for 3 spokes, very few cars can play them off. I prefer the rp03s (i personally love 5 spokes). Anyways, yeah, the forums really don't play much on choice for me. I use the forums to actually see if people have done it or if i want to do something, i want to see if other people have done it and see how it looks than imagining or sketching it out.

So you're going with the Vertex kit? Where are you getting it from? I want to order the vertex lang trunk lip and i got a quote from chuck (rotary extreme) for about $420 (i believe) and shipping will take quite a long time. Let me know where you plan on ordering it and how long shipping will be.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the support. Ever since I saw Sam's wheels, I was sold on them. I don't know... it's sort of that unique look. Add a little caliper paint and new rotors and voila! I guess I really have to try and envision my car with 3 spoke rims on... wish you could go to a place and test them out for look. But that would be asking for too much right off the bat. It's like, the Enkei's are the "safe" choice, while the 3 spoke is the "risky choice"... I guess it all depends on how willing I am to take the risk. (I'm an entrepreneur, so it's in the blood.)

Anyway... I am decided on the Vertex Kit (which I plan to get from Speed Alliance, already called them, I just have to get the money. Still wish it didn't HAVE to come as a full kit. ;p)

So, I asked about the new Racing Hart S3 Pros, and then I saw the thing about sponsorship from Dazz. So, I ask you guys another question. What are sponsorships like? I'm reading this form from them and the requirements, but I never dreamed I'd ever think of putting a sticker on my car. So, I'm a n00b at that too.

Anyway, thanks again for all your help. Really helping me along here.

I believe with sponsorship you get items at price, but you have to put all these stickers on your car, and show up at a certain amount of events per year. I thought about it, but I'd rather not become someone's advertising tool.

Remember that Churchill story that ends with the tagline, "We've already established what kind of lady you are. Now we're just haggling on price."

Any time someone asks you about a product you have and you give a good recommendation, or simply likes what you have and decides to buy it themselves, you are an advertising tool. You just aren't as obviously one as the sponsored guy.

if you wanna see how the car looks with ur 3-spoke rims, take a side-view pic of ur car and photoshop the rims on, wont be perfect but you will get an idea of what it will kinda look like.

I think a really cruel Apr. fools joke would be to put a bunch of strakes on your car and see your face. Nothing that would damage the car of course.
