The So-Cal RX meets are pretty much set and have been on the schedule for awhile. So it would be difficult. But why would it effect the meets?

-The guys from the So-Cal Club OC meet will drive over after their meet at 11:00am

and we will also ask

-The guys from the So-Cal Club South Bay meet to move over to the AutoBacs after their meet...

No real issues... just make the meet time at the AutoBacs a little later... 2:00pm or so. So it will actually be two caravans coming; one from the South, and the other from the North... we will encourage everyone at our meets to attend. Ohhh and you'll get a lot more than 10 if we do this...

Then we can all caravan to Mazdatrix with a line of 20+ RX-8s, 20+ RX-7s and take a nice group RX8club pix of the meet...

12, 1 or 2pm, doesn't matter. Make your local meet first. Get there earlier you can jaw-drop at the hyper-inflated prices(It's known as AutoBuck$ for a reason). The LA guys need a little travel time understandably. Like Bern said, expect much more than just 10 cars.

I'll meet up at the South Bay in Long Beach (10 minutes away) and then go down to Autobuck$ around 2pm.. perhaps sooner, not sure what we're suppose to do at In N Out for 3 hours..hehe.. kinda scared of the parking there too, lots of people that might ding the car.

 

yeah that in-n-out is normally packed too! I never really liked the long beach town center thought..

 

The details are:

S.E. LOS ANGELES / SOUTHBAY -11:30 AM or so...

Although we set the meet time at 11:30AM, we know that this really means 11:30am to 12:30pm, by the time everyone shows up...

by the time all the folks eat lunch and hang for a bit... it's 1:30pm or so... it's easy to spend 1.5-2.0 hours eat'n lunch, BS'n and chill'n.... At around 1:30pm or so, folks can head over to Autobacs... it's all pretty loose... if things slow down earlier, then everyone can head over to AutoBacs earlier.

Just suggestions guys... we are hoping the whole RX community can get together in So-Cali... noth'n better then hang'n with a bunch of rotorheads!

This is good input guys... if you show up to the So-Cal meet, please give your input on an alternative meet site. We are open to changing the meet point, if the TOWN CENTER sucks. Just mention this to either Jeff G. or Gary S. both So-Cal senior guys, at the meet. An alternative can be hammered out for the March meet, if needed.

Well, I went to Autobacs on Saturday at 2pm. and the parking lot was full. There are to many companies there that use the parking lot. So I don't want to have people parking 2 min. away!

Although I am meeting with someone on Monday at UCI, to use their extra parking lot.......its right next to the Block of Orange.
Their parking lot is HUGE, and there isn't but 2 or 3 cars there on the weekend.

 

But I think the whole point was to go to Autobacs and look at their expensive crap, and also show off Rotary Power to all the other import cars. That parking lot is huge though... hmm..

 

Yeah but when I got there, there was only like 4 spots open to park.
Also, if everyone "just" wants to go there to make fun of the imports and to talk crap.........then they can do it on their own time!!!!!

Sorry for asking, and please don't take this wrong, no sarcasm or bad wit intended to this quetion... but what exactly was the purpose of your meeting? Did you just want to get the So-Cal RX-8 peeps together? Just wondering....

Anyway, if that's the case... why not just join up at a local So-Cal RX Club Local Meet point? BTW, our Tustin meet point should have no parking issues...

I thought Autobacs would have been a good place because of the "importness" of it all.. I usually see some nice cars there, WRX, Evos, RSXs, Supras, etc.. And we can show our Rotary enthusiasm there as well to all the piston cars. That was it... otherwise I could have said let's meet at a Park or something since there will be plenty of parking and no one there to disturb us.

I'm still going to meetup at the SE Long Beach meet first, and see how my local Rotary enthusiast's cars are like. It was interesting to meet some of the RX-7 peoples at the LA Auto show meet, and Bern and Adolf etc were cool peeps. Seems like they know their junk...

First off, I didn't know that the So. Cal Club was having a meet on the same day.......So I thought it would be fun!

So I'll just blow off my plans and you guys can just meet @ the So. Cal Meet!

2) But the whole point of suggesting Autobacs was to meet... and I thought some of the other members may want to meet here as a midpoint.

3) Let's still all meet! After the So Cal Club meets, we can still make it to somewhere... :P

I think MIKE A meant he would blow off meeting with someone from UCI to ask if we could use their parking lot on the weekend.

I personally can't envision the Autobacs lot being full of company/business parking on a Saturday, even at the outside parking fringes. It's a big lot belonging to a now-defunct Edwards theaters/now Autobacs. Any locals want to recon the lot ?
The LA/South Bay clubbers need to know ASAP.

 

When I use to work for Golfland, I believe there is a back area parking lot behind the Autobacs/rest of the stores. Usually no one ever parks there. I'll recon this week sometime... but when I went there a few weeks ago there were lots of spaces still... Not sure about parking like 10+ cars next to each other, but we can be fairly close.

I'll still show up AFTER the SE Long Beach official meet, and then head on out to Autobacs if anyone else wants to still meet there for the OC group. If not, we can all just gather around Mazdatrix even if they aren't open, they have a huge area... we can all meet, take pix, write a mini-column of "Meet the X's" for RX Tuner Mag...etc..
