The Last Malibu Run

Just wanted to let the west forum know that the last running at Malibu will be the first Saturday in August. We will be saying goodbye to Malibu Canyon on August 5th, so come on out if you had thought you might want to check things out.

Check into the Malibu thread and let us know that you'll be coming. As we get closer to the date, more information will be posted in that thread.

https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...=1#post1440990

Hope to see you there.

they have not been getting good turn outs and I belive the thread leader left. so some of the die hards are giving it one last hoora. I think we are going to try and get some of us San Berdo guys out there for the last one. make it one big meet. that would be pretty cool!

you going?

I'd love to but this is the busy season in my job, and I already had a couple days off the beginning of this month. I can't get any other time until at least Sept, without getting **** for asking.

here's one of the videos

http://videos.streetfire.net/categor...EECBACF331.htm

not any driving footage on this one, but there are clips of Fanman's turbo, as well as AddictiveRx's Nitrous setup. I'm going to try and find some more of the video's.

ahhhh, found some more....enjoy.

http://videos.streetfire.net/categor...499DEF3DBB.htm

there are alot more videos, if you search for "Mazda RX8 Malibu"...but they keep coming up with advertisements which I don't know how to remove...maybe you guys will have better luck.

For those of you who have not gone before... this is truly an amazing time! Great scenery, great company, LOTS of twisties!

We'll try and take it a little easier this next time out in case we have any new people.

Yes we will go a bit easier as theres been alot of cops and bicyclist lately. As for this being the last meet, we shall see. If I don't sell my car by early november I'll be keeping it and would like to continue the malibu cruz, maybe not as often.

How far is this from sevenstock? Maybe I'm dreaming, but I think it would be great if all the 8s left around 3 and were to do on this run.

it's 87 miles from my house and SS9 is about 6 miles south of my place...
Good idea but don't see it happening.

Thumbs up

i agree with Jun and am willing to commit to meeting at malibu on a regular basis if there are at least a few core people also willing to do the same. it could be a smaller meet- ie just the los angeles & west-side people, such as Michael, Rick, Jun, Stealth, myself etc. since it's a lot closer for us.

as the core group becomes more familiar w/ the runs, then the burden of leading can be shared. and, the san bern & oc meet people can always drop by whenever they feel like it- without feeling obligated. and, likewise, we can still drop by san bern whenever we want as well. or, for those with enough enthusiasm, they can go to this meet first weekend of the month, and then go to san bern the second weekend.

we could schedule it so as not to conflict w/ the san bern meet. and it would give member in the la & west side an alternative to driving out to san bern & oc meets.

thoughts, ideas, feedback?

Yes i agree with the few...there is no reason this should be the last malibu run, they will just happen less frequently. It would be a good idea to contiue to get a meet together like they do in LA and scheudle the runs maybe 3-4 times a year.

Thanks but I got the car running. It turned out it was flooded, I just had to remove the spark plugs and let them dry.

how do the plugs look?

Any reason you didn't take it to the dealership? You could have gotten a new battery, plugs, and starter... (unless you've had that done already)
