Question LA / OC Peeps, I need your help...

... I need to get my windows tinted asap.

Anyone know of any really good tint shops around? (lifetime warranty on the tint would also be nice)

Driving around in this So Cal heat is not much fun...

Thanks everyone!

RotaryNoob:

I called Tint Masters but they said their non-metallic tint is only good for 5 years. After that it will start turning purple and might even bubble!

I have the Nav system so I unfortunately have to get the non-metallic tint.

You can try calling TNT Window Tinting at (626) 571-1985 and ask for Alan or check out http://www.tntwindowtinting.com/. Alan has been tinting windows for me for the last 18 years (opps... I just gave away my age! hahaha) and done a awesome job everytime! Best of all, he is mobile, so depending on where you live or work, he might be able to come to you!

Tell him Mike Q. sent you!

I got mine done at Tint Plus (http://www.tintplus.com/our_locations.php). They did an excellent job and a nationwide lifetime warranty that is tranferable if you sell the car. They use FormulaONE auto tint. They gave me a discount with my web based quote.

That sounds about right...5 years. There are some films that are warrantied for 7 years, but you're gonna pay a good amount to have it installed. I went with the cheapest film I could get. It came with only a 3 year warranty but was only 100 bucks for all the windows. I also didn't know how dark I wanted to go, so I went cheap first time around. I now know that I want to go a little darker. I'm only at 30% right now.

I got mine done at Mike's Tint shop in Buena Park. I've usued them a couple of times. If you purchase their more expensive films, they will replace it for free if it ever bubbles, fades, or in the event of a fix it ticket.

Talked to ULLOSE's contact and they sounded pretty good.

According to Beverly (lady who answered the phone) they do non-metallic tint that they warranty for LIFE. Won't ever fade or bubble.

She quoted me $170 for the whole car.

Gotta call FE3P's and Rx-a-ho's places tomorrow.

Keep you guys posted...

I must have the metallic tint then because its lifetime warrantied. No nav here so I guess thats no problem.

I actually sported the extra cash and got FormulaONE's ceramic tint (about double the price) and it is really nice. But I think all FormulaONE tint comes with lifetime nationwide warranty. So if you find a FormulaONE dealer anywhere in the US (not hard to do) they will fix any issues for free.

I was very please with the quality of the work and the quality of the tint.

Bev is a cool lady, 2005 SCCA DSPL natl champ. Her husband Toby does the work. They may not be the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. My tint job is 6 months old and look perfect.

I'll go if you go to Malibu tomorrow.

C'mon man, the weather should be nice and by this time next month it'll be RAINING.
(aka No more tearing up the canyon roads for a while.... )

We can meet up somewhere and drive out together if you want.

I've never been with those guys but it looks like they have a BLAST every time they go.

I'll try and make it out to the next LA meet since Rasp seems to think you still owe me a burger.
