Important: Effects all AZ vehicles
For those of you who attended the new years day run you may remember Tim talking about a new law trying to be passed here in AZ that would make front license plates mandatory. Here's a copy of the information I received on the matter.
" SB 1028 would require all AZ vehicles to display a front and rear license plate. Terrible news for classic car enthusiasts!!
http://www.azleg.state.az.us/legtext...ls/sb1028p.htm
Forward this to everyone you know who is a car enthusiast. Tell them to contact their legislator and tell them that we DO NOT need this bill. We need to defeat this measure."
Please help us try and put a stop to this. Thank you.

" Our legislative services department said to contact your 2
representatives in addition to the bill's sponsers (those 2 senators)."

Thank to Boxcar for posting this.
They just want this as an easier way to collect money from ticket sales. Since DPS has a few laser systems patroling, a front plate makes it easy to bounce a beam back to the popo.
Other wise they use the headlights as a target.
A messgage to out Local/State officials, Spend my f---ing money wisely. Don't spend it on bullshit programs that no one cares about !! Spend it on keeping the illegals out of AZ, or better yet hire more police to keep the city safe.
Ok rant over.

I would prefer they cracked down on uninsured drivers. My buddy just lost his bike to one and the cop let her go. Litterally let her drive away with no liscence or insurance. Any ways that's a topic for anouther thread. One thing at a time right.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? This is rediculous. No way in heck.
I can second the sentiment about putting my tax money toward cracking down on uninsured drivers I'll be digging up the name of our state representative that helped pass a bill to impound the vehicles of uninsured motorists involved in an accident. Maybe he can offer some suggestions on how we can be heard and fight this bill!

The name of the bill is SB 1028 . Click the hotlink to read details on the proposed bill to require 2 plates on AZ vehicles and is supported by Senators Jarrett and Allen. Their phone number and email contact information (as well as other members) is available at this hotlink for the AZ Legislature Member Roster
What I can't figure out is whether or not this bill has been squashed or is still alive and kickin. I can't find anything about it being presented etc.

This just in:
This wasn't sent to me but wanted to share the progress of this bill.
""" Due to an overwhelming response from my constituents, business owners and the public in general, I requested last week that this bill be held. As the prime sponsor of this piece of ligislation which came about at the request of the Auto Theft Authority and law enforcement agencies, I have since decided to not continue with this bill. So it will go no further in the legislative process at this time.
Thank you for your input and for taking the time to address your concerns with me.
Sincerely,
Senator Marilyn Jarrett
