Axis hiros. Everyone has the staggered 19in set up, so I decided to go with the new 18x8.5s instead. Will look plush once I get my ings kit. Hopefully if things work out I'll try to get it in the hin in san mateo, but we'll see. I don't want to rush it.
I went last year and that was a week after I got my car. Some ******** keyed my 8 when I went there!!! I would go again, but only if a friend of mine is willing to drive up there. I am not taking that risk of getting keyed again.
Maybe he meant getting it in the show of HIN. Good luck to anyone that would want to enter a HIN show... you will need a ton of sponsorship or money of your own to even remotely compete against the other cars. The worst part is the prize to the winner of the show in your category is rather silly... $100-200 bucks. For all the effort, time, and money, that's awfully weak.
But if you just go there to see the show, ya, watch out for the parking lots, lots of keyed cars the last HIN in LA.

Hoodrats.. hehehe.. dang right. I think for most first time HIN visitors, they think that all the models are "foine". But the reality is only a few are the ones you see in the magazine, and the rest are dang Fugly.
For all the first time people thinking about entering a car show, I would suggest trying the lower level ones... the local shows. At least those, there will not be as many "Complete" show cars to compete against. At HIN, the cars are mostly fully sponsored, or have spent double to three times more than their car is worth. So expect to spend at LEAST 30k+ on your car to even remotely be considered entering HIN in So Cali. or it will be embarassing. I'm not sure how other states are, but here in So Cali, this is where it all starts, it's gotta be your "A" Game.

i've seen cars get really fucked up...it starts with the flyers..all those stupid promoters lifting up your wiper blades putting them on..then people come around and pick them off... im not to sure how the shows are held in other states but they get pretty bad in L.A. ..
Just got back from HIN. It was OK, nothing special. Packed like crazy. Lots of hot girls, but just hundreds & hundreds of guys around each one. Dark as hell, could barely see the cars. Mazda was there & sponsoring a booth, but all they had were 2 RX7's & some Mazda 3's. A few RX8's there, including the Greddy turbo car, but nothing too crazy. Cops were outside busting people left & right.
I wonder how many people got robbed, killed, etc, and had to wait longer than usual for a police during the time they were writing up citations for the important things like no front plate, and aftermarket exhausts.
I missed brooke burke
the cops gave tons of tickets--it was real bad
they had people pop their hoods and trunks once they were pulled over
I drove my 8 but I parked it in a seperate garage for 20 bucks instead of the general garage

When I pulled off the freeway and was going towards the convention center I saw 2 cars pulled over by the cops, both obviously fixed up imports. I decided to make a left & park a few blocks away & walk rather than deal with the po-po. When I was walking towards the even I saw they had pulled over a Skyine no less. After I came out of the event (only stayed there an hour & a half as it was packed & too dark) the 2 cops were busting another guy across the street, one of the cops takes off, pulls a U-e & pulls over another Prelude. I went the other way. Luckily there was an entrance to the freeway off of Olympic, so i just went the other way. It was just crazy. Why even have this event if this **** happens. I'm not going back next time (at least not with my car). Police aren't helping promote business. Even though that's not their job, they should have talked to the city about laying off this nonsense for this night, instead of being out there in force.
I understand cracking down on street racing, but it's not like people were out in front of the Staples Center burning out down the street. The people I saw them pull over were minding their own business. The traffic was way too thick to do any kind've racing anyways.

I was talking to another member about "fixing up cars" and how imports get shafted... considering some of the other laws that gets slipped by. Such as no front plate for Corvettes is A-OK... and having Harley Choppers with 100+ Decibles and blow out crap.
Well the concensus is that these laws are allowed to be broken because most of those guys are white, middle age, wealthy guys that could fight the law. Imagine if the import owners were the same race and age... I doubt we would see so many ticketed imports.
Like you said, it's not like anyone was racing... it's all for show. I mean, it is called Hot Import Nights SHOWOFF.. not race off. Jeez, these cops need to focus on what is important here, like crime, robberies, murders, etc that is going on in the city, instead of busting some rice rocket.

i took a beat up mini van to the show and had some friends who were in the show give me their wrist bands...if i had to pay i would never had gone in...
Fanman, how was your car after the show? Bombarded with flyers?
Probably the only part I liked about the show was watching Jin rip some guy apart during the MC battle...
As far as Brook Berke goes she was no where to be found. Where the hell was she!
All in all, it was a waste of my time...

So who is going to the Orange County one in December 3rd? Anahiem HIN 2005. After reading all these posts, you would think people would not want to waste their money or time. It still nags at me to be paying $25 bucks to watch OTHER people's cars, and wish I had this and thatt... I would rather use my time, save some money, and meet up at our local Socal meets. At least we get to see other owners of Rotary, and without having to pay to look at another person's car.
