Help renting an 8 in LA

I will be visiting LA in early Dec from Toronto (I drive a 2004 Red GS model) and wanted help to know where to rent an 8 in LA. Also can any local 8 owners offer ideas as to great roads to drive in and around LA? Thanks.

Gwoody, you've got to drive up and down Mulholland Drive. I do it at least once a week (late at night) and you get the best view of Los Angeles, hands down, at multiple stops. The road is virtually empty and it winds quite a bit. As someone very familiar with the curves, I go SUPER fast but you should probably take it slower and get used to the curves as there are lots of accidents on Mulholland.

while on mulholland, watch out for squids and cops. mulholland is actually much better to drive during the day (while observing the speed limit) since the course is for pros at night. the view is nicer and you'll see some interesting things (stop by the rock store on weekend for the bike gangs). at night its crowded with canyon runners and drifters so it can get a bit dangerous, unless you know the road of course. mulholland is pretty tame but it gets crazy toward the end, plus the side roads you're supposed to take (which i wont list). just a heads up. if you're just going to watch, go up to the top of stunt and you'll get a good eagle eye view.
oh, and there are lots of cops on mulholland so be careful.

i'd recommend Angeles Crest as well. Little tujunga is pretty much played out now.
the ride through Ojai valley is very nice.
have fun.

Thanks RX8Bliss. I am not sure what you mean by "top of stunt" but it sounds like I want a good view.

I have just returned from my trip and want to thank those forum members who offered advice on greta roads to drive. You were right. In 5 days I was able to do Hwy 1 to Monterey, Mulholland, Ojai Canyon and Topanga Canyon. They were excellent and makes me wish we had roads like this closer to home. Here we need to travel miles to get anything close, and they are great only in summer.
By the way I was surprised to see only one other RX-8 in my travels. I saw Bentleys (5), Ferraris (6) Porsches and BMWs too numerous to count but only 1 of the beloved 8s. I wonder why? or maybe I was in the wrong areas to see them.
