All five airbags deployed and I got out of my passenger door. Broke left foot and painful chest. I dunno how my left foot took the impact though. I really loved this car, and will probably get it again knowing the kinds of crashes (remember Hardhitter's) it takes and totally saves the passengers.

oh and all emergency people who showed up kept saying "too bad, such a nice car..."

OMG man the same thing almost happened to me like twice, I was lucky but still there are a lot of crazy drivers out there on the road lately. If you gave me the kids info I could make it to where he never drives again. I know some people in government who could send him to prison to give him a wake up call. But yeah sorry to hear it man.

Get some legal council to convince the parents to get you a new car instead of the kid

in other words . . . . you got a case . . . take it

Hey dude, I'm sorry to hear about your injuries. Broken left foot + chest injuries, not good man.

I agree with what's been said before, you've got a pretty damn good case.

My suggestion is approach the parents. Don't be an ******* about it, don't threaten don't yell. Just calmly present what you've got:
a) You were injured
b) Their son was at fault
c) Because they are the legal guardians of said idiot they're responsible for cleaning up his messes.
d) You're not looking to make a quick buck, you just want to get back to status quo, which in your case was a damn nice car.

If they are reasonable people they'd settle it out of court. If they're as rich as their idiot child is bragging about, they should have no problem affording an Rx-8

The main thing I want to stress is, be overly polite don't **** them off, they may be able to afford lawyers that would get the kid off, don't let it come to that.

Do not talk to them. Have your lawyer talk to their lawyer. Also, have your insurance company's lawyer talk to their lawyer.

Or that.

The thing is, my parent's car have gone through eggings and hit and runs.

In both cases they've approached the the offending party's parents before they went to the lawyer. Kind of like a courtesy heads up. In both cases the brat's parents realized that my parents were doing them a favor by not pressing charges or wasting time w/ a lawsuit and they took care of the problem outside of court. No lawyer fees, car was fixed with no drawn out waiting for the insurance check to be processed.

By all means sic a lawyer at them, but by doing so you've already escalated the situation even further. Obviously if you do talk to them, don't do anything that may jeopardize your case.

Thanks. I have been calm the whole time. I didn't speak a word to the other party, I'll let my lawyer do that. I don't care for 30% cut, I just want to be back to where I was before the accident. I really hate hassles that I don't plan nor deserve. But, yes, no doubt I will sic my lawyer on these people.

Yes, my car was red. I know about the silver curse heheh... this is not the case.

As I said earlier, go to a lawyer first. Don't contact them yourselves, it might make your chances of getting anything later (if they say no) better. Let the lawyer deal with it, that's what they get paid for. If you win, you might even be able to get the parents to pay for your lawyer.

And it makes it tough to play drums and race with a broken foot.

Sorry to hear about this Xyntax.

This may not be on your mind at the time but if it is totaled don't forget to get your after market parts.

Best skin is tough skin. Sorry to hear about your loss, and it goes to show, that even cops don't know how to deal with people properly.
